From what I have heard a fair few exhibitors dropped out at the last minute... I did notice markings on the ground but with nobody filling the spots so this is probably accurate. I think if a few dealers had got on board it could have a bit better. and a free/cheap way to promote your local business. Hopefully next year.

I'm glad it went so well. I will confess I was a little sceptical how good it would be... I agree, it does need more shops and somewhere to get drinks would have been good but I guess that means more licences and hoops to jump through.
As you say, can't really grumble for a free show. I have been to worse shows that I have actually paid for lol

Forget 2010.. get 2016 for £9.95 http://www.microsofthup.com/hupuk/home.aspx?country_id=GBYou populate with your work email address. if your company qualifies then you can get full office 2016 for under a tenner. Just ignore the program code and submit. you should then receive a link at work to authenticate and then you can buy it. Been using mine for a month or so now without issue. good luck.

I have the Yamaha ones fitted to mine. Personally think it fits with the styling a bit better and IMHO I think the Rizoma indicators are ugly.. http://yamabits.co.uk/yamaha-led-flashers-3138.htmlBeing a genuine Yamaha part they are CE approved so I would have thought must be road legal. Very bright and flashing speed was corrected with an LED friendly relay from eBay Good luck.

Right, cheers all. entered most of these in the Satnav. My plan (if possible) is to try and watch the racing from a few locations round the course. So I will then try to drop in to some of these places when nearby. Racing is on for 3 of the 4 days we are there so I doubt very much we will get to do everything.. Another bonus is the Rutland hotel has overbooked so we have been upgraded to the Claremont hotel in Douglas at no extra charge

Hi all, Going to IOM over the bank holiday weekend for the classic TT. Going in the car as taking the Mrs and my Father-in-law who is 70 (His birthday present if you are wondering) so no Fazer action But anyway, as an IOM virgin are there any sights I must take in on my few days there? I intend to do the obvious things like Creg ny Baa, Bray hill, Kates cottage, Joey Dunlop statue etc. but any other nuggets I must put on the list? Please keep in mind the Mrs old man is 70.. so walking miles is off the cards. Thanks, Fuzz

Hey guys, how do i get one of these and how much are they? Cheers
drop schlumpf (Christian) a pm on here or email him at cvieth@arcor.de Also have a look at his very informative website about it. http://cvieth.bplaced.net/ganganzeige_summary.html
I have had one on my bike for just over a year now. It is a vast improvement over the stock fuel gage and so much more useful.

Yep I know it is at Silverstone. My comment was regarding staying at Derby for it. Traveling 75 miles from Derby to Silverstone is not what I would call "Not too far"

I live in Milton Keynes so know the surrounding areas fairly well. I would see if you can find a B&B/Pub accommodation in one of the villages near by. Potterspury, Paulerspury and Yardley Gobion are worth a look. Towcester (pronounced "Toaster") and Whittlebury will be more expensive but still worth considering. http://www.silverstone-accommodation.co.uk/bandb/Camping not an option? While down this way make sure you pop in to 2 local biking cafes. Super Sausage in Potterspury and Jacks Hill just past Towcester. Both places tend to do some kind of event or show over the weekend so always worth a look. http://www.supersausagecafe.co.uk/https://jackshillcafe.co.uk/

As a stop gap you could have a heavier spring fitted to the shock. I have Hyperpro fork springs and shock spring fitted to mine, feels much better than stock. Stock spring used to be on max preload setting and I felt it was too soft. Hyperpro half way preload is firmer than the stock.

Given you already have one of the best Japanese inline 4's I would go for something with a V-twin.. I have been looking at weekend toys for ages. I keep coming back to the aprilia tuono. Will probably keep its value fairly well and that thumping twin will put a grin on your face. I also have a taste for the XJR1300... love that retro muscle bike look. B-King is another option.. not many were made or sold so again could be a good investment.

I decided to go for the mirror extenders in the end.. at the very least I could give my own experiences to anyone else thinking about them.
Do they work? For me yes. I still see a smidge of my elbows but I can see so much more than before. Given me more confidence when overtaking etc. To give reference I am 6'3" and 16.5 stone. take a 2xl in a richa jacket so I am I would say a good size.
Fitting? Very easy to fit. I had them on in about 15-20 minutes. no issues at all. of course mirrors still fold in and operate as normal.
Worth it? I will say they are not worth the silly price tag. I know all SW motech stuff is expensive but £43 is just silly. They should be closer to £20 max.
Quality? They are a tough plastic machined into shape by the look of it with quality inserts to attach to the bike. I have no doubt saying they will never fall apart.
Hard to say if I would buy again.. They do work well but just wish there were a cheaper version available.

I would say it depends on the insurer. Some seem to penalise more than others. Personally I have a Gen 1 thou and I told my insurance company it has an after market end can and a K&N and they said it did not affect premium at all. If they give you a hard time shop around. I use these guys http://moto-insure.co.uk/were recommended by a friend and have been top notch so far.

Despite my previous negative comments I did actually enjoy the show this year.
The Rossi bits and bobs on display were nice to see, the bike out in the open up on a plinth to enable cheesy photo's was a nice touch. Better than being behind a rope and out of reach so to speak. Very much enjoyed looking at Richard Hammonds and James Mays bikes and reading the info on them. The custom bikes although not my thing were good to see, the time and effort that went into making them was impressive.
Father-in-law and I sat on many bikes and I think it has convinced him to change from his current V-strom 650 to the new XT version when it comes out. So in my eyes it is mission accomplished, Suzuki will almost certainly have a sale out of it.
In all honesty I think the only negative comment I could make is the venue is still a touch too small in my eyes. We walked round it twice and even stopped for lunch and had left by 2pm. Makes me feel as though I am not getting value for money in comparison to the NEC show. Especially when you factor in the price of parking is £15 for a whole day and we were there for a little over 4 hours.
I think the only reason it was busier than last year is that the bike industry has many new and interesting bikes, people love to fondle the new toys.
The question is, would I go again?? yes I would. (next time I will take a packed lunch than pay £6 for a hotdog though lol)

I find all grips too small for my shovels so I use these Grip Puppies on them http://www.grip-puppy.co.uk/Find them very comfy and reduce the vibe a great deal. Father in law also uses them and loves them.
