General / Re: Triumph sprint
« on: 13 March 2013, 03:47:45 pm »
I know it's not a fazer but I have had a square and foxeye 600 and want to try something different so would like your honest opinions I can afford a 2008 model

As you can see I had a Sprint 1050 and a fine machine it was to with excelent handling plenty of grunt and great looks, I would agree that the headlamps nead to be upgraded though because mine were not really up to it, but as Pitt's says you don't need them that often anyway unless you do a lot of night riding. :)
I fitted a trident triple sports exhaust conversion to mine in carbon finish which looked the dogs and sounded great aswell the only trouble was the poping when shutting down but a suitable maping to match at my local dealer sorted that out and added another 10 bhp.
To be honest I only kept her for about six months purely because although a fantastic alrounder it some how lacked the top end rush you get with a Yamaha in line four as in a Fazer thousand that it had replaced.  Also my son on his thou' kept pulling away from me which was quite anoying. lol.  :lol
So in conclusion IMO if you are replacing from a six hundred then you will be well pleased because as they say "what you have never had," however if you can run to a fazer 1000 gen1 do so because it's a no brainer it will do everything including your weekly comutting.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Fazer Parade - What you got
« on: 13 March 2013, 12:35:42 pm »
My 05 Thou' Ivanised with 3 degree ignition advancer, rentals, carbon can etc, only 7k on the clock when I bought her about 18 months ago and still has only done 11500 miles. Bought my first Fazer 1000 back in 2004 and apart from other bikes that I've owned I tried a Gen2 fz1s for a while, but as you can see I'm back on the best machine another Gen1, can't beat them.  :lol

After a year off my bike due to a broken elbow, I am now getting my bike back on the road. I'm a bit nervous, so I'm hoping some lovely foccers would like to join me in a 'gentile' bimble around Essex/Braintree district :) Maybe, Finchingfield, somewhere else...erm...where Eddie goes (I'm not sure where that is) and into Colchester for a nice lunch?
I predict the end of May will be a balmy 30 degrees and warm enough for me to venture out. If anyone can make it, or had preferred dates, please post :)
Hi Tori, just seen your post and sorry to hear about the broken elbow, I can relate to the nervousness when getting back on your bike after being off it for sometime but you will be fine i'm sure. It's a bit to far for me ending up in Colchester but hope that all go's well and that you enjoy your day whenever it is. :lol

Two years ago I was airlifted to Coventry hospital intensive care unit whilst on deaths door, the fantastic doctors and nurses without a doubt saved my life for which I will be forever greatfull. Dispite it's faults i.m.h.o our NHS is still the best when we need it and should never be taken for granted.

They - jump red lights, ride on main roads in the dark without a rear light, ride side by side on narrow roads dangerously and without regard for other road users, disregard motorist's signals, put on the lycra and think they are pro,s and that is the better one's. Come on Goldfazer let's have your reaction to this one. lol. :lol  joking aside unfortunatly there is a minority that fit this bill and as usual make it look bad for the rest of experienced cyclist's.

Surely it's all about being a responsible adult and not looking for excuses for our actions, if you want to get pissed then throw away the keys first.
Personally I found the footage very hard hitting and with a lasting impact, if you can ignor images like these and still take chances then sorry but there must be something wrong somewhere. Are people really so uncaring that they would totally disregard a vidio so powerful as this one without thinking firstly of the possible conseqenses, the awnser is unfortunatly yes that is more than apperant judging by some of your responses but then it's the old story it will never happen to me - will it?

For what it's worth I would strongly recommend TCP plastics to you, because although quite expensive from my own experience the quaility, fit and colour match are all second to none.

For anyone thinking of having just the one and riding/driving this Christmas here is a sobering bit of video footage that makes you think, be warned it's very powerful and not suitable for the sensitive  sqeamish or your young children to watch.  :eek

What a great bit of film, made at about the time I past my car test and I enjoyed looking at all the now classic cars it brought it all back again, those were the days when you could actually enjoy your driving at a much more relaxed pace. As for the idiot who overtook some things never change but at least today's cars are a lot quicker and therefore safer on overtakes in the right hands of coarse.

Looks excellent Dave and as you say that's more like the sort of service we want. I wish you had'nt posted those pictures though because it's made me want them again and that means my spending some more of the kids inheritance but then thinking about it, blow it you only live once. :D

In the light of all the evidence, I won't be ordering.

When a company is too incompetent even to maintain a constant line of BS to their clients, it doesn't give me any faith in their ability to manage the proverbial in a brewery.

If anyone here still wants to take the risk of ordering through Zero Limits, I'll remain engaged to ensure the forum discount that's been negotiated but it will be entirely at your own risk.

Sorry it's worked out this way, chaps.

Hi Mike and fellow carbon seekers,
thank you for posting your unfortunate experence only I was very strongly considering ordering several items from Zero Limits and have even pointed others in their direction. As a result though I have now decided to give them a miss and by the looks of things save myself a lot of agro.
