Hi Stu, I'm not sure if you can buy something off the peg as it where, but if you can draw up exactly what you're after there are lots of little fabricator workshops who could produce what your after at a reasonable cost  :) Depending on where you live, I'm sure there's someone with reasonable rates.

This is probably going to be what i will do, my uncle is a fabricator so ill see if he can sort me out!

Cheers everyone

Hey guys I know theres been loads of posts about a custom speedo bracket for a 'naked' conversion and ive even seen some decent ones.

The best I seen was mounted where the bar risers were however I cant replicate it as I dont have the tools or metal to do this... I was curious if anyone actually makes these or something similar I could possibly buy or even an old one that worked great I would buy.

This will only be temporary to get me back running again until I fix the shitty projector conversion someone did and repair the slight damage to the fairings which I plan to do this winter while shes stored away.

Cheers everyone.

I checked the MOT pass and it has nothing about indicator spacing only that they must emit orange light and flash between 60-120 times per minute ive also looked for anything on laws with indicators and i cant find anything about being too close together.

Im not saying youre wrong but can you prove it to me? as i cant find anything about it is all. cheers for the info if it is infact 100% legit.

EDIT: i actually found the legislation and they should be fine... unless im misunderstanding it

FZS600 Fazer / Headlight Recommendation
« on: 05 April 2017, 02:05:05 pm »
Thinking of removing the fairings from my 01 Fazer... previous owner did an awful job with some projectors and i think the bike looks better without the fairings anyway...

Anyhow what i need is a Recommendation of a single headlight unit to buy? i don't have 100's to spend i just want a nice looking single round headlight with a beam pattern legal in the UK...Ebay is awful for Chinese aftermarket shit now which to be honest i would buy but none have an answer for me on beam patterns they all say they have no clue which is annoying why sell something you've no f**king clue about...

Thanks for any Recommendations guys i couldn't really find anything on the forum about it.

P.S ... i mean this looks ok and would solve the having to mount the indicators problem but the beam pattern is probably everywhere on them. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331962801210?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Does anyone have a full headlight for the 98-2001 box eye Fazer? took mine off the bike today ready to replace a reflector i was supposed to be buying from a member tomorrow but ive had to drop them in it like an arse.

I know these rarely go cheap but im hoping to god someone can help me out ive had no luck with this bike so far!

« on: 19 November 2015, 02:47:02 pm »
the top of the beam isnt flat which is a shame its basically a circle. I assumed they would be ok but when i tested it there was no pattern and they wouldnt reflect off my original reflectors anyway theyre too big i dont know why they can sell this shit without stating it has no pattern, I should of asked but i didnt even think about it until now like an idiot.

If i can adjust it somehow i will but i think sending them back may be the easiest option.

FZS600 Fazer / MOT beam pattern
« on: 19 November 2015, 12:15:18 pm »
Can anyone who does MOT tests or knows anything about them tell me about the beam pattern needs to pass?

I stupidly bought two of these for the bike http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361370316459

Ive tested them with a 12v power supply and theres simply no patter theyre just like spotlights... this would be an instant fail right? or is there anything i could do thats not too drastic to alter the pattern.

P.S i know the red bit is illegal i planned on not connecting it. If i cant do anything with them im sending them back.

You're not on about the shroud thingy that covers the bulb are you?

Ermm i dunno i just mean the silver reflector thats in the actual headlights they are all the way around the bulbs though the thing that gives the bulbs their pattern. I dont know their name i just call them reflectors haha.

Hi guys/girls

Has anyone got an old set of boxeye headlights damaged or anything they dont need that i could have/buy the left side reflector out of?

Mines got a piece missing and im worried it will cause an MOT failure.

FZS600 Fazer / Seat Cover
« on: 11 November 2015, 02:10:39 pm »
Hey guys,

Does anyone know where i can get decent seat cover for not silly money? People will probably call me stupid but i find it ridiculous having to pay £45+ just for a cover to be fair.

My seat has developed a small hole and before it gets worse id rather cover it, I did want a cover with Fazer written on it if possible id prefer it cheaper than £45 even £30 (probably impossible)

Thanks.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Side stand engine cut out switch in more detail?
« on: 29 October 2015, 09:50:49 am »
I agree with everyone else number 1 is right, however my Fazer wouldnt even start in neutral when the side stand was down so i disconnected the cut off switch and got my Dad (auto electrician and mechanic) to use it as an immobiliser for my alarm.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: LED headlight conversion for FZS600 2001
« on: 11 October 2015, 04:16:19 pm »
I did both sides on mine. Flicker is down to low voltage which is normally resolved with a thicker cable to power the ballast.
How did you do both sides HID? I'm just waiting on another set of lamps coming then I'm going to experiment, 2 HID H4's is what I'd like to do but need to see what happens.
Have you any pics of your mod?

I did the two H4 HID conversion but my ballasts messed up so i removed them. its easily done but youll have to cut into the rear of your headlights as the left side isnt a H4 i just cut the hole big enough for the H4 bulb and made my own little pin bracket to lock the bulb in place, it worked brilliant until my ballasts started messing up.

I did this upgrade aswell but my bike now has two H4 bulbs, i simply cut a hole big enough for the H4 bulbs base on the side the H1 was on made a new clip to hold it in place fixed it on with a screw also sealed it with some hot glue from a glue gun just as safety works fine ill post a pic tomorrow.

100% worth the effort

« on: 22 July 2015, 09:31:50 am »
I wouldnt be paying that much just for a Bi Xenon conversion, I bought  the H4 kit off Ebay and did it myself it was a matter of cutting the hole to resize the left sided headlight as the bulb size is god knows what i made a new pin to hold the bulb in and it works fine. It cost me about £15.

Nice lights though i like those.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today
« on: 20 July 2015, 07:26:25 pm »
Didnt do it today did it yesterday but i did a lot to her.

I replaced the knackered rear brake caliper with a 1000 rear caliper i picked up off eBay in excellent condition put new pads in, got a new rear tyre on it and also shortened my exhaust myself as the end was dented and i hated it, plus i prefer a shorter exhaust anyway.

Thinking of changing the levers to gold as the bikes gold anyway and i need to find some of the 03 model mirrors as mine are battered and the 03 ones arms are longer which is better in my opinion.

I was thinking of rebuilding it i can get the pistons to pop out. My friend did it cleaned them up a bit with the green brillo stuff put them back in and they just wont build up any pressure to come back out the seal is fine because theres no fluid leaking out and the one bleed nipple it does have releases fluid wen we try it so i can understand why they wont come out.

Hello everyone, (Fazer 600 2001)

I'm sure you've all had these questions before but my rear brake caliper on the bike i bought is pretty shot one piston is seized which is causing the other not to work properly and i can't even bleed it properly because the previous owner has snapped one of the bleed nipples off one side and i don't want to replace one terrible caliper with the same one.

My question is i have heard a YZF750 rear caliper fits (and the obvious 1000 caliper) but the 1k calipers are like bloody gold dust, anyway which year of the YZF750 caliper fits with minimum modification? and i will i need the master cylinder hoses etc etc with it for it to fit? i know the TRX850 fit aswell as i have seen the guide but i cant find one and i have found a few 750 calipers.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated thanks alot!

Also if anyone on here has a caliper for sale let me know and im sure we can make a deal.
