Have a set of Givi pannier hangers for sale. PL348 I think.  Fit easily onto givi rack rails.   Includes the brackets for rehanging the indicators (have to lengthen the wires yourself though)  Looking for £50 plus postage.

paint takes time to cure.  Even in the car factories, paint can be damaged by things like masking tape and water before they get to the end of the line.  About 1 1/2 days,
and thats with serious amounts of baking.  Look after it for a while and hope for the best.  Wouldn't powder coating be better for the frame though?

General / Re: Which Fazer is the best and why?

Had a box eye, fox eye and thou and tried out an Fz6.  Best is the fox eye cos it has everything the box has + headlights and tank range.  Thou is a great machine but needs work to ride hard(and a decent shock)  Fz6 is good, handles well but doesn't do the all rounder job as well as the old one.

Was looking at bikes last month and looked at V strom, Versys , Nc750, and Tracer 700.  Went through the tests and spec etc and ended up buying another foxeye,  moral for me seems to be why pay loads of money for something that is only marginally better than a 20 year old bike for 2K.

Weirdly (and it must be my age) out of the others the NC was most appealing lol

length is 183mm on later bikes.  Don't know if its still about but there should be a manual download somewhere on the site

Diesels and Lawnmowers (Bike racing n things) / Re: Amazing Alvaro

How do you race a bike that can overtake you every time you hit a straight.  Even in Assen it was killing Rea at every time it could get on the centre of the tyre,  even if it was for about 100 metres?  My best comparison would be Pedrosa and what he could do with the Honda.

Well the theory about the Ducati not turning was destroyed at Assen.  Think the difference between Bautista and Davies is purely size, and that Bautista is a better rider than he had the chance to show in MotoGP.
On the subject of MotoGP I was expecting something like this from Honda.  They have been saying that the Honda has had problems over the past couple of years, but more riders won races on Honda's  than ever.  Now they have it sorted its showing how good it is when there's a decent rider aboard.  If Cal can stay on top of it he could push Marquez like no other rider on the grid.

General / Re: Downshift Blipping
« on: 26 September 2017, 09:42:18 pm »
I get puzzled by these conversations.  Up gear is clutchless or with a courtesy flick of the clutch in the low gears to help smooth it out.  Downshift, I have absolutely no idea except I don't physically blip the throttle, but then again I always use front and rear brakes all the way to the apex so I usually pick the gear I want long before I tip it in.  As for top end, 145 on the clock is easily achievable but totally pointless cos you would only do it on a straight road so a total waste of using 2 wheels.  As for speed on corners, only time I look is on the way out, never on the way in?

General / Re: Why so many Tracers for sale
« on: 31 December 2016, 09:24:19 pm »
The reason they have so many coming up is that there were so many sold.  And then there's the riders who want the next big thing so they buy at the start of the season and sell at the end.  Tracer was the best selling bike in the UK and in Europe as far as I can get info, and rightly so, it is the next gen Fazer.  BTW, cos I have been looking most mags and reviews rate the 700 higher in all forms.  How weird is that

I have a silver 2002 Fzs1000 with 16k miles on it.  Has an R6 rear shock + the original.   Standard screen on it at mo but I have a Black double bubble.  Quill road legal exhaust (slight dent) and the original.  Fazer rad cover. and Givi Rack (plus original grab handles).  Scottoiler. Colour coded seat cover, bagster I think.  There are a couple of chips on the rear of the tank from a zip.

Next door had hers done about 3 months ago.  Cost 1100 but that was cos of the scaffolding needed.  Been loose (one was hanging on simply cos it was caught on the guttering) since we moved in a year ago but she couldn't afford to do them.  We got her a PPI payout and she got them done so bonus all round :)

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: R6 shock Mod fazer 1000
« on: 19 June 2015, 04:26:58 pm »
Took the bike out.  Rear end stayed firmly planted even on some seriously gnarly roads.  Good result.

Pity I blew a fork seal, but that's what warranty is for lol

Shock is on, all I need is the weather to test it out.

BTW is it set up already?  cos I would hate to start buggering with the settings if they are already about right :)
