What about Castlewood Cafe on the A518 between Weston and Uttoxeter ? I live in North Wales but I go there a lot to meet and chat with fellow bikers. The food is good too !

I'm on the M1 corridor so I can do Midlands. Provided of course that my Mum says I'm allowed out to play. ;)

How about the weekend after the spring bank holiday? An early start on the Sat or Sun 4/5th of June? Plenty of notice and a chance of decent weather, anyone got any good venues/routes?   :rollin :rollin :rollin

We've a lot of things on over May/June, but I'm going to try to clear that Sunday so that Liz and I can come along.

Last visit to Rutland Water was the one warm sunny Sunday last November - we did the 25 mile loop around the reservoir on the pedal bikes - but all the way there and back we were saying that the roads were great for our proper bikes.

I could possibly do that, it would probably be the first decent run the fazer's had since I got it going again. The A607 from Grantham to Melton Mowbray then A606 from Melton to Rutland water is a great road.

I'm in Grantham too, would be great to include the Grantham to Corby Glen road in the route, fantastic road even in the car. Right at the top takes you to Melton Mowbray and probably a better road (twisty)

It's a meet whatever route you choose to and from is entirely up to yourselves.
