I did a six hour endurance race on a Honda Melody (stop sniggering) at Skegness not long after the series started. I have never seen so many people taken to hospital at a race meeting. Utter carnage. And quite funny.

In the first lap, there was a colossal pile up and I seem to remember riding over someone's head. I think he was alright, but I was about the 15th person over! There was like this carpet of bikes and riders and everyone just rode over them.

At about the 3 hour mark, I started having a dice with C50 rider. He would do me on the straights and then I'd whizz past round the outside on the corners. After three laps, he got fed up with this and at the end of the longest straight, he just stuck a leg out and hoofed me into the tyre wall at top speed (A massive 35mph!). I thought I'd broken my pelvis but I did the hero endurance rider thing and managed to get the bike back to the pits for a change of rider but it wasn't long after that the poor little thing seized solid.

Ah, youth. Whatever happened .. ..
