We land at 10.05am on 30th Aug at Heathrow, coming back from 2 weeks of looking after aged/infirm in-laws - so will have to give it a miss.

I'm going with a mate.  Luffield looks like a good place to be.  I'll be the short fat bloke with the tall Twat

I watched it on ITV4 last night, Rossi is still the master, was it just me but there seemed to be an awful lot of empty seats. I know the weather may have kept a few away. What did the ticket prices range from. I am not a fan of short circuit racing but looking as if this years championship may go down to the wire and living 100kms from Valencia I may just be tempted.
I went a couple of years ago, Marquez's first championship, to be honest I did find it a bit of a yawn, the highlight was watching 100,000 Spaniards going of there heads though.

70.000 fans on Sunday alone. It looked almost as busy on Saturday qualifying. No room in The six grandstands near the start straight. Luffield bends.

The atmosphere was amazing.  A couple of the smaller Seated areas were closed off  but most were packed out. For me the only annoyance with the wet weather was that the racer were read out, in all 3 races they soon spread out. Oh and the other annoyance was the disgraceful food.  But I suppose that is all part of the racing.
Roll on next year.

When the GP was at Donnington we would book a weekend ticket, camp over for the festivities, sell our race day tickets and watch the race on tv.
Qualifying and the campsite used to be the best part of the weekend.

Anybody remember the rockets being launched at the police helicopter?

Camping was not for the feint hearted :D
Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!
