Exup Valve

Hi all

Just a quick query.

I always stripped out and lubed my Exup valve but I confess I never removed the bush on the non-actuator side of the Exup valve.

Partly out of fear of coming up against a seized bolt but .........

being on the lookout for another Fazer 1000 .....yes I know, I should'nt have sold the original one.......and now looking at potentially un-loved Exup valves......am I right in believing the bush is simply mounted in the casting and bolted in?

Assuming the bolts have'nt seized should I be able to knock (gently) the bush out for inspection, clean and lube?

I've never found the need to remove it as it's not meant to move. Just lube the exup and the collar that fits over it and put it back in. Obviously strip and lube all moving parts in the actuator end. If you are looking for a fazer thou gen 1 i spotted this one the other day...

The bush on the non actuator end isn't secured by anything and isn't threaded, at least mine wasn't as I managed to dislodge it on the previous to last service which was a first, had to take the can and link pipe off and fish it out of the valve housing. It stayed in place for the service I just gave it, I think it's probably just carbon build up that holds it in place when you withdraw the valve. So if I got mine out accidentally you should be able to get yours out intentionally without much hassle.

I was looking for this as well and just found this exhaust system that claims to be able to do away with the exup valve with no reduction in performance.
