Yes, the earliest ones fit.
2010-2012, the shock unit had a fully bronze body such as this: ebay # 2667905415172012-2014 the shock was remained bronze on top but had a silver / alloy finish on the bottom clevis, such as this: ebay # 155356745566 Avoid anything after those years!

I recently got refused entry to a building for just trying to walk in while carrying it.

WTF? Did they think you were going to use it as a weapon or something...?!

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Ohlins YA-009 rear shock for fz1: fitment
« Last post by b1k3rdude on 11 May 2024, 06:55:08 pm »
So this was the only place I could fit the pre-load adjuster and even then it was a tight fight. routing the hydroic hose from the shock to the adjuster was also a pain, I had to route it under the ABS unit, between the unit and the protective plastic splash cover.

Can I ask if anyone else has fitted an ohlins to their FZ1 and do they have photos..?

 :agree

I agree, if you have an Off and land on your back on a helmet, you're at risk of serious injury or death.

My tank bag expands sufficiently to take a helmet, or a cargo net on the back seat would work.

Having seen the damage a backpack can do to someone's back in an accident i would never suggest that one be worn on a motorbike. Have a look at tail packs that have straps to carry around rather than a dedicated backpack. I cant suggest anything though as i always use the topbox for storing my helmet when parked.
