Im selling mine but have a lot of family commitments at the moment. It's a right pain but got to prioritise. For the next 2 weeks I am only available on Saturdays and still need to take the autocom and GPS off!

Anyway here it is, if you can do Saturday(s) then I'll sort out the autocom etc 👍

They do come up from time to time, just be patient and something will come up. Just don't wait if a low miler does comes up! Don't worry so much about a later plate one, as they are all the same (bar a few tiny tweaks - cat from 05 onwards etc)

3k is very much top end to put it mildly!! When I get some free time I'll be putting mine back up for sale, well under that and it's near as damn it mint (couple of stone chips). Just need to be around for people to view but having to run around sorting our family stuff at the moment - and know no one will want to view at night.

That is impressive. My take on these is that if they are in spec, they are in spec. I never change if in spec even if others want it in the middle of spec range. It could stay within spec for a lot more years and it is IN SPEC 😄

 HI

brought this of Luke / Devilsyam about this time last year as my lad wanted to start coming out on the back of the bike so needed something 2-up capable (and my KTM 950 SuperEnduro wasn't it!), but now looking for something even more 2-up tourable. An FJR1300 is current flavor of the month, so this needs to go.

It's one of Luke's / Devilsyam builds

  • 53 plate, 39,500 (ish) miles,
  • MOT until September 2017 (no advisories on the last one),
  • V5 in my name, at my address, nothing to hide, feel free to do any HPI type check you want to.
  • Powder coated frame and wheels,
  • The paint is in really nice condition and kind of sparkles a bit in sun light,
  • Tony Archer custom seat (REALLY comfortable),
  • MIVV Exhaust
  • R6 rear shock,
  • Rental handle bars,
  • Braided brake lines,
  • laser cut metal radiator protector,
  • Rear hugger,
  • Tinted double bubble screen,
  • The side panels, radiator side covers and hugger have been carbon dipped,
  • Pazzo style adjustable levers (not Pazzo but gives good idea what they are like)
  • LEDs in the indicator and Neutral tell-tale lights
  • Belly pan and front mudguard extender in same paint
  • AIS removed
  • DNA Security marked
  • Currently it's got the stock mirrors on but have a set of bar end ones with mirror hole blanking plates if you'd prefer. The bar end ones actually give a better view, but won't give enough room for my autocom switch.  Happy to put on what ever you prefer.
  • I put the gearing back to stock when I got it, as the front was lifting too much two-up, so got a very low use +3 rear sprocket to go with it.
  • 90-degree tyre valves make life so much easier!
  • Unfortunately no service history. Did an oil/filter change at 36k so will need another in ~500 miles
  • I can leave the Givi arms on, but top box and plate will be taken off as I'll need the for my new bike. Could be sold subject to separate negotiation.
Pictures show my GPS mount and Autocom which will be taken off for my new bike.

I'm in Fleet, Hampshire.

£2,500. If I put it on ebay classifieds I'll put it up for £2,600 and allow them to knock me down to £2,500. I don't mess around, and believe this is a fair price.

Test rides are OK with full cash amount in my hand.

cheers

Think that's all but probably forgotten some things!

Had it about a year and it's been great, runs beautifully and not missed a beat, but need something more 2-up toury - FJR1300 or some such.

£2,400

I'm in Fleet, Hampshire.

If interested let's take it to PM as others can then seee the description in case it's not for you.

Edit: I put the gearing back to stock as the front was lifting too much two-up, so got a very low use +3 rear sprocket to go with it.
Edit 2: oh yes, braided brake lines front and back, carbon dipped radiator side covers, laser cut metal radiator protector.

You still looking? May need to trade mine in as my road bike needs are changing - would be very much at the top end / a bit over your 2,000 budget. Not including the top box.

Markie - The guards will still be on the trains, just called train managers instead. The argument it just over who closes the fecking doors.

In that case stop fecking up peoples lives and get back to work!!

Back to Southern - I have very mixed feelings about guard-less trains.

On one hand there are safe, guard-less trains all over Europe. I use them a lot.
On the other hand I was called to do first aid by the guard over the tannoy when he found someone collapsed and no one else had noticed.  If the guard hadn't been there, it may have ended very badly.

Who knows eh?

I always used to get alarms (Meta 357T's???) but about 12 years ago realised that the £25 a year saving on insurance meant I had to keep the bike about 12 years just to break even. Yes I know it could have stopped a theft, but not had a bike nicked for best part of 30 years so not bothered on the bikes I have had since. The stream of reports of being stuck with a failed alarm does not make me think I'll change my mind anytime soon!

I do realise I live in a low crime area and keep it in a locked a garage away from prying eyes, so I would be different if I left it chained to a lamppost in central Manchester/London etc

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / DIY service log?
« on: 04 January 2017, 11:09:08 am »
Hi

Time to get started on servicing the "new to me" thou and as it did not come with a service history, does anyone have a spread sheet / Word document type thing I can use to keep track of my servicing? It's a 13 year old, ~40k mile bike, so not going to bother getting it dealer serviced for "resale" reasons, but do want to keep track of what I've done. Also, I can staple receipts for parts to the document to prove at least I've taken care of it!

If not, I guess I'll just print out from the service manual, write down the milage and tick the things off as I do them, but assume someone's created something I can steal!

cheers

Markie

PS I won't ask what oil people are using :)

Not a great photo, but here's what I taped up for reference.

Cheers
