Ivan's jet kit
« on: 30 August 2013, 09:47:12 am »
I'm in the middle of fitting Ivan's SO jetkit, can anyone clarify exactly what the correct sequence is for the spacers and washers on the carb needles is. My bike is an '04 plate and has 3mm spacers, I've checked the various sites and can't work out the right sequence for my bike. Pat's site seems to contradict what I've read elsewhere.
Cheers
Jim.

Move the e-clip from the middle groove to the second from the top.

Put one of the original washers under the e-clip, then the 3mm nylon spacer, then the other washer.

Refit to throttle slide, press down the needle holder and make sure it's squarely in place.  Push the needle up a few times to seat the spring.

Thanks Mike, so there will be a total of 4mm of shims/spacer under the e-clip? I really can't make head nor tail of Ivan's instructions regarding the needles, even Pat's site says to put one shim above the e-clip.

Jim.

Arrgghhh!  Sorry, brain fart when I wrote that. :(

Of course, it's one washer on top of the e-clip, one underneath and the 3mm washer next.  Total of 3.5mm spacers below the e-clip.

I can't even claim I was half-asleep or pissed when I posted.   :lol
