For Sale & Wanted / 2000 FZS600 SP for sale £300
« on: 18 May 2019, 08:59:40 pm »
I am selling my 600 Fazer due to getting a different job now commuting by car.

It is well used and condition reflects year round daily commuting for 4 years. Not used for 1 year, is SORN and needs new MOT. Mileage is around 80,000.

Slight weep from one fork seal and I will include a new seal. Bike was running rough just over a year ago before I stopped using it so used some Redex and that seemed to stop the carbs sticking open. It might need a bit of love to get it running well. New tyres fitted with less than 200 miles use. YSS shock and standard, nice useful rear rack. Spare set of wheels and used discs - the spare rear wheel had a rounded bolt so only 5 holding the disc on. Wheels that are fitted to the bike are good and none of the bolts were seized the last time I checked.

Would be a good winter hack and should not take too much work to get it running. At the very least a few good parts on there to act as spares for someone running a similar Fazer.

£300 and I am based near Heathrow

Cheers

Hello

Looking for a replacement centre stand for my FZS 600 year 2000 as mine snapped today.

Closer to London the better.

If I don't find one for sale I might ask if I can borrow one (for a few beers) for a day as a template so the broken one can be welded back together.

Closer to London the better.

Cheers

FZS600 Fazer / Re: GSXR750...
« on: 26 November 2015, 07:56:43 am »
Down to personal preference but I prefer it to the newer models as it has more character. It is also a low cost bike to own and maintain.

I suggest you test ride a few, new and old. Also watch baron von grumble riding an old lady on you tube.

I have a 1999 blue and white 750 SRAD and it is amazing. It is a different riding position but comfy for a sports bike. Way more power and speed, enough of a difference  to justify having both. Feels special every time I ride it. Belly resting on the tank keeps weight off the wrists.

I am putting it up for sale so pm me if you are interested in trying it.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Battery/electrics

You could check the resistance across each element of the reg/rec. The Haynes manual for a 600 Fazer '98 to '01 offers no help with this, saying you need to take it to a dealer. Do you have a Haynes manual for the '03 that gives the info?

Reg/rec went on my SRAD last week and the Haynes manual for that has this:

FZS600 Fazer / Re: How do you cope with glasses?
« on: 12 November 2013, 08:14:40 pm »
Caberg EGO no problem with glasses for me. Helmet has a flip down sun visor so good on the rare sunny days. Also has the essential Pinlock visor so no fogging.

You could get some of those memory metal spectacles that can bend so sit in any helmet nicely.

I think the armed forced have requirements somewhere that you cannot be selected for certain roles if you have had laser eye surgery. Must be something wrong with it? I would be worried about scar tissue etc..

Bike came from Portsmouth this morning so not the one in Hatfield. Previous owner had taken good care of it and spent loads replacing parts with new OEM stuff so looks and rides really nice.

Muffs are toucano urbano 319s off the 1150 gs and have also fitted the 117 gaucho, like the capes on scooters. Might look a bit silly but is waterproof and really warm. Muffs are far better than the oxford ones.

Just about to cover the bike in ACF 50, hope you all know what that is!

Hello all, just bought a year 2000 Fazer and hear this is the place to be!

I like getting my hands dirty so look forward to working on the bike, hopefully with your experience when needed.

So far the bike feels really nice, a bit more London traffic friendly than the 1150 GS it replaces. Not quite as nippy as my 99 750 SRAD but plenty good enough to get me to work in a comfortable hurry. Glad I didnt go for an SV in the end.

Cheers
