So just picked up my 2nd Fazer (left to me a late friend)
The bikes only done 16000 and it's a 1998 fzs600 , been sat for a long time so I've had the carbs off and cleaned them , drained the tank and repaired the petcock ,
After getting the carbs back on and firing her up she ran lovely , took her for a run up and down the road to see how she feels and she felt lovely
Now for the issue , 2nd gear seems to whine alot louder than any other gear , my 1999 Fazer doesn't make a sound anything like it ,
A bit worried about it, how worried should I be ? Is the gearbox ruined

Hey guys ,
So I've been reading all the tps stuff and I'm pretty sure this isn't a speed sensor fault ,
The rev counter kinda gets hung up at 5000 then kinda wiggles it's way up , then gets stuck there again , never drops to zero like some of fault code stuff .
What can this be ?
I've checked the tps and the Speedo if in effected , working as usual
Cheers guys

Hey guys ,
So, took the carbs off the Fazer yesterday for pre spring clean and while I had access I thought I would pull the cam chain tensioner to see if there's any steps left (rattle on idle when cold)
There was about 4 clicks left which I thought was strange as there's a rattle on idle , should that slack if been taken up by now?
What do you think ? Sticky tensioner ?
Cheers

Just got some spots for the fazer and going through different wiring ideas , is it safe to use the live feed for the headlights for power or will it draw to much power for the circuit? The spots are 30w each

Hey i today I went for a little blast and noticed and strange whining noise coming from the front sprocket area that changes in pitch with speed , I can hear it above 40 onwards , do I need to worry or could this just be worn chain and sprockets ?
Chain looks fine because i clean and oil regularly.
Worried about a gearbox issue but the noise stays the same with clutch in or out

Hey , as titled is isopropyl alcohol ok to clean chains without damaging the x rings? , its way cheaper than the aerosol cleaners on the market.

Thanks Robbo for the givi bars , couldn't get hold of any supports brackets but ended up welding some supports on and bolting to the helmet holder hook holes ( after strengthening) I show what I did at the end of my video

This is my bad drawing of my idea to get the old girl up in the air: Ask a friend to hold the bike stable and jack up from the middle plate then slip 4 axle stands on all corners of the frame ?

Hey guys, I have adjusted the lower clutch cable many times before but today my swan neck spanner (well the monkey using it) has stripped the 2 metal tabs that fold out presumably to stop the whole mechanism from sliding in ? Haven't rode the fazer yet because it's tipping it down out there but the cable adjusted fine afterwards and seems to be working. https://photos.app.goo.gl/5jyMK4AwgoniAzVB2Now I'm worried the clutch is going to slip like f**k or I'm going to damage something without the little metal tabs doing there job. Has anyone had this issue before?

hey guys.
thinking about a track day (novice only brands hatch in august) atm i have new set of bridgestone t30 evo's fitted to my fzs600, my question is can i ride the 70miles to brands, spend the day learning the track, have some fun, and ride home again on the same tyres ?
or will the tyres be done for?
sorry for the novice question but really dont know how tyres last on track for a first timer
PS i have reasonable experience on road and ride hard at times and my tyres usually last around 7000 (t30 evo)
