General / Lidl O ring set
« on: 12 May 2022, 12:41:47 pm »
Just a heads up, Lidl has 420 piece set of O-rings (who needs that many). Says they are acid, petrol and oil resistant. Presumably ok for Carbs then?

Instead of stripping the paint couldn't you rub down the blistering paint then use a filler primer before finishing with top coat.

Still pissed off with the company though as I can't get a quote anywhere near what my original policy was as it's too close to the expiry date to get the best deal! it's the new underwriters who've decided to not recognise policies from the previous underwriter, Apparently refunds will be sorted after the policy ceases on jan 29. All the info is on the mce website. 64

Have you tried using a flat screwdriver or the likes to manually push the side stand switch out? mine doesn't always spring out fully when the side stand is lifted

Just to add .... your bike has to have the original engine which came with the frame. The £60 charge isn't until Yamaha confirm your bike conforms. Its payable when you request the certificate of conformity 67

Took the new Tracer 9 GT out for a 2hr test ride on Saturday.
Very tempted to buy Then today I took the new MT09 out for a spin, only got 1/2hr but it gave me enough time to feel the lightness of the bike and the speed wobbles past a certain speed. Also very tempted to buy 68

General / Separating ethonol seems another panic« on: 10 October 2021, 01:36:37 pm »

Just watched this clip as a matter of interest and the possibilty of reusing the ethonol to reduce financial waste. When it came to siphoning off and then adding fuel boosters I got to wondering if the people who are likely to go to all this effort were previously accepting of E5 in their lawnmowers and the extra 5% has caused a panic or whether they previously always always bought super unleaded which I presume co trained no ethonol. Either way factoring the 10% loss of fuel in with the cost of fuel booster would it not be more economical to siphon or stick with the now super unleaded E5.
