put in some 'lucas fuel stabalizer' which sounds simple but....... i had to give the battery ( indoors over the winter) a quick boost, take off 2 covers, remove the chain thats wrapped around the back wheel/over the saddle,re connect the battery, leave her running for 10 minutes to get the fuel flowing into the carbs, which stunk my flat out with the fumes, and then had to do everything in reverse order- so it had better be worth it come the spring !! i was really tempted to take her out for a quick bimble, but with all the salt thats gone down in the last 4 nights i decided againts it. roll on spring

buy my Fazer 600 so i can buy the MT 09 TRACER that im in lust with
That got me googling and I didn't know Yamaha had announced the price of the bike - £8150!
Hmm, I wonder what it would be here in Ireland. Nothing on Yamaha's Irish site, I must check with Danfay.
go on youtube, type in '2015 yamaha FJ-09 - first ride and review (MT-09 TRACER)' and watch/listen to that triple roaring, the yank doing the commentry is a tad annoying, but its a great review and is seriously getting me tempted to get one !! ( sorry, not i.t savvy enough to put the linky thingy up ) theres also a vid up of the Tracer with the Akropovic exhaust on,sounds even better !!

Nick, is the road with the Tank crossing sign the chittern road (?) that starts/ends at Bulford camp ? if so, I love that road, its part of my 'got no where to head so go here' route, on the way to countess services on the A303 before turning around and doing it again back home. glad you had a good ride out today, I was stuck in the cage from somerset to berkshire wishing I was on the bike.

i have the same bike as you,my battery is CT12B-4, i have no drain on it (alarm/imobiliser/heated bar grips etc ) and its sat outside on the bike for weeks and starts first time, every time. my only starting issue was a dodgy imobiliser so ive had that cut out of the system. its currently indoors off the bike over the winter, which is why i can reply to your question !! rob hunter co,ltd 01749 880615,if you want to order one

car passed its mot !! mark 4 Golf Gti, 214,000 miles, only advisory was a near limit f/n/s tyre getting low (new one being fitted tomorow ),the emmisions were lower than on newer, less milage cars according to the examiner. just shows that regular oil changes and good oil is the way to go imho. only down side is that i need to get some minor rust issues sorted,as id hate to lose a great car, after looking after everything else,by ignoring the rust.

You've had an exhaust on with a baffle in for 9 YEARS and you haven't tried taking the baffle out? Get on it! I'm shocked. I've also got a Speed Triple with a straight through 'Not For Road Use' exhaust. So the Fazer is for quiet days
I'd do it purely to see if it made a performance difference. The baffle restricts flow (and chops up the flow of gasses, I know), which is why it's quieter.
pilgo - what did you do to your seat? I did a mega road trip this summer and ended up with a numb arse (1200 miles in 2 days) and would like to get it comfier!
im not sure there's a seat yet invented that would keep you happy doing 1200 miles in only 2 days mate !! but Google 'digger seats',he's based in Newport in welsh wales,he re upholsters your existing seat. i did 550 miles over 3 days back in september,i got really uncomfertable by the end of each day,but after being initialy annoyed that the seat id had upgraded was'nt much cop,i realised that it was just the shorts i had under my textile trousers that were the problem i'll try to find his number for you

i posted something similar to this thread a while back 'a year of Fazer fun',(sorry, dont know how to put a link up ) have a shufty at that as nearly all the things i have done are from suggestions on here, other than the obvious stuff that ive always done to my bikes, exhust, braided lines, new screen. the K&N air filter improved things,as did a carb balance, upgraded the brake fluid to DOT 5.1 while doing the braided lines, the fazer thou rear caliper thing is a marmite moment, the saddle is a must if you do regular distance rides imho, changing the coolant is always a good idea. im just trying to do all i can before my spare money runs out as i fully intend on keeping my old (but new to me) Fazer for a few years,so the mechanical things are a must, the cosmetic stuff is always down to personel choice/taste but that screen on your bike makes such a HUGE difference to the look on your bike as for the exhaust,my Boewulf sounds lush, and ive never taken the baffle out in the year that ive had it,as it sounds fine as is,but maybe a quick blast next spring with it removed is a thing to think about keep the pictures coming as you do things

moved it in the pitch black from its usual parking place to another as im having my shelter built tomorow and the bike would be in the way, so 2 covers,a disc lock and a gert chain and lock through the back wheel over the saddle, all had to come off, move the bike, then replace it all. (and had to text the girl who uses the yard to get to her flat and tell her ive blocked the path to her flat so she doesnt walk into it in the dark and now torrential somerset rain !! )
