Vera noice, if at some point in the future you sell the FZS, you should def sell these separately, they are worth their weight in gold pressed latinum.

General / Html and formating issue in posts: Request for more infomation
« on: 25 November 2021, 02:35:09 pm »

Bob and I are looking into this issue that as it stands, a few people are have the issue where -
  • html will get placing into a thread post
  • Or the fonts will be super tiny or have unexspected formatting.
So in order to help us investigate the issue, it would be helpful if we can start by having the following info -
  • Who is having the issue?
  • What OS and browser are they using?
  • What browser plugins/addons to they have installed?
Once we have some users and test cases we can try and replicate the issue. Bob and I currently have multiple different browsers installed so we can test a few permutations.

many thanks

Sorry to sound cross but I keep this machine tip top and there's no way I can afford a new Euro 3 anything. Makes me spit when I see heavily polluting vehicles cluttering up the road which are clearly  not "compliant" in the real world on anything other than paper..
All the info you need is in this very thread fella, in your instance just contact Yamaha UK and get a CoC. Then once you have that, create a dummy account on TFL's website and upload a copy of your CoC and the front page of your logbook. When I did this for my FZ1, the bike was listed as ulez compliant after 24hrs.

i was hoping mag would get whole model range exempted, because mine shows fzs1000 on logbook not fz1
They tried and not just specific models.

Nice clean bike, and good price, should sell quickly.

I got mine from Venhill, negotiated a deal at their stand at Stafford Bike Show, paid cash, £260. Amazing difference in effort reqd to use the clutch, no trouble at all to install, perfectly reliable.
Links please.

Also what is better about the Venhill kit that its worth £85 more than the Magura kit ?

Fella, do a forum search -

General / Re: What are you going to do with your Fazer this winter...?

It will sit under a cover for most of it, I will have to deal with dead batteries and the spectre of E10.

Yep, not a fan of theses SM's either. That said I try and avoid MW's where I can A) because its boring and B) so I don't wear out the center of my tyres.

Is that location in the above image the only place there is coolant? I assume there is none around the cam cover or the spark plug galleries..?

I would also check the lines running from the radiator to the carbs (these prevent the carbs freezing in winter afaik.

Did a thread clean, as it was getting off topic.

or Hiflofiltro TUV approved filters.
Same, much cheaper than oem.

And looking at your pic again, the ignition cover on the r/h side looks like it need some attention. When I had the bike I have tried... to find replacement engine cover/s, but either they were -
  • silver instead of black.
  • right colour but over priced (there is a place in germany that does pattern replacement cover, but pricy, and then you have customs charges on top).
  • outside the UK (so customs charges).
  • poor condition (for repainting) & overpriced.
  • Just not available, as in no clutch cover
But that said I have found a clutch cover (£35) and ignition cover (£25) both in poor condition but priced accordingly. which you could then get soda/vapour blasted and then repainted.

Corrected, but they were only examples. There are pages and pages of search results about this issue.

Just had a buddy tell me that he had a K&N oil filter let go and leak oil all over the bottom of the bike and his rear tyre on a trip to Europe. So then did a search online for "exploding K&N oil filter" and there is page after page of results, but here are some examples with images -
There was a class action lawsuit in 2020 against them -Looks like it effected the following filters - KN-138, KN-204 & KN-303 (This fits the FZS1000 & FZ1). They list the KN-147 for the FZS600, but other searching show the KN-303 also fits.

Yep that's my old FZS, I recognise the spot lights and some of the marks on the bike. The first image is when I bought it, and the second was just before I sold it. Loved that bike, was stupid fast. Only reason I sold it was because I wanted something newer and because in part ULEZ.

That topbox looks a wee bit overloaded though, I am fairly sure it would make the front end skittish on the motorway. Anyway what part of the UK are you in, I'm down south just off the M25. I'm around if you have any questions or need any help.

Very noice mista, I have the exact same colour FZ1.

on a different note, Id be wary of those frame mounted frame sliders, hit them the wrong way in a drop and they will snap the frame mount clean off...!
