I'm a fairly tall rider 6ft 3. My screen seems to direct the airflow right to the center of my helmet. Will a double bubble screen improve this for me? Or any other suggestions?

Yeah i'm a 6ft 4 lump and have similar issues! Haven't seen anything myself (which doesn't help you mind!) but interested to see what other folk have to offer.

I've tried allsorts of screens. I'm 6'1" tall and tried touring screens (very noisy unless your sub 50mph)
Standard screens (not too bad)
D/B screens (pretty good)
Currently running a chopped down screen on the fz1, and it's great at directing the wind somewhere in the middle of my chest, nice and quiet though. No doubt it would be a bit nippy in the winter though!

Interesting. Sorry to ask a bit of daft question what screen did you chop down and how did you do it? :)
-
It was a cheap chinese d/b screen I chopped(about £12) Cut about 4" off it.
I used believe it or not, a wood saw! It really is the best hand tool to do it with, just take your time, and don't use a rip type big toot saw. Pick the finest one you can find.
I finished the shape with a file and Emmett paper to get the finish smooth.
And measure twice, cut once!

I would echo this. I have just removed a touring screen today, and fitted a DB type screen, and the difference is amazing! Im only 5'8" as well, but the touring type just drives the air right into my helmet - buffets like mad.
-
I', 6'3 and had this issue, changed the standard screen for a DB one and all it did was move the wind flow from hitting my chest/neck to right in the middle of my lid, stuck with it though as I can slouch lower and into the dead air better :-) I have seen the air deflectors that go on top of the screen, an adjustable blade that you can move to suit your own height etc but at £100 a go......

Sorrs Sir's but apart from Sannox and glove you seemed to of overlooked that his bike is a FZS 600 and others have a thou.
Also am I to assume that you have the fox eye.
I can confirm that a DB on a boxeye for me at 5'8 makes no difference
-
Also got a D/B screen on the 600, as said I get hit direct on the head and I reckon I'm about 5 8". The screen was on when I got the bike and have thought about maybe a standard screen? Thoughts from people please? See avatar.

I quite liked the d/b screens I fitted on my boyeye(s) my last one had a standard screen and it was a bit pants tbh.
-
Yeah I have the standard screen on a foxeye. Its not unbearable just wondered if it would improve things with a db. I've seen the touring screens but they just look a bit...you know...train spotter.

Hi Fazersharp. Yes noted you had tried the DB. maybe have to try stevierst's mod and cut the screen. Not really that I want to cut a good screen down.
Steve. If you think back I am a touch shorter than you LOL.
Just thinking I might just try taking off the screen and see if that helps at all. It is only above about 80 I get wind noise and buffeting.

Try riding at the desired speed, and then raise your arse off the seat an inch at a time until your satisfied with the wind noise/buffeting. Do it several times just to be sure. Take note of the best height to be at, then cut that ammount off the screen.
-
Standard screen for me on the boxeye mainly because the DB imo looks wrong from any angle on the earlier fairing and by all accounts gives little if any extra protection...

There's a fair bit of discussion here but can you tell me what make of screen you are using on a boxeye, or is this against the website rules? Has anyone tried either of these on a boxeye and are they any good? (the first is much cheaper)
1) http://www.demonbikes.com/more/on/details/10075 also can you post a pic of this as the company that sells it doesn't have one.

That is a good point as some may be better than others in the design.
I think Ive about pollished off the make but will have a look, got it off ebay a few years ago
-
Mine is a F.FABBRI dark tint double bubble screen. I get buffeting and wind noise (from the screen --- the screen)
-
I've got a DB on my 03 Foxeye. I get no buffeting at all, but it is quite noisy at high speeds. I put some of that down to my HJC helmet.
