Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Exup Again
« on: 25 April 2012, 06:57:21 pm »
thanks for replys
after further investigation and decided to look more at the servo i have found that i have 3 teeth stripped from one of the cogs which may explain the lack of movement in the exup when revved, must have been lucky how it returned to correct position, so its time to spend yet more money, just wish i had kept hold of my fazer lol,,, as my mother always says You Will Never Learn,, what do mothers know lol,,, the video posted is hopefully how mine is later in the week,,
thanks again for all your help

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Exup Again
« on: 25 April 2012, 04:33:10 pm »
as you may know i have recently sold my fazer and bought an R1and had the same problem with my fazer, i have posted my question on 2 r1 based forums but they are either full of numptys or just dont like me lol, here goes,,,,, i have adjusted the exup as per pats site and its set perfect always returns to dead centre after i have dont a ignition recycle BUT when the engine is running the vale looks like it is open way too much, lets say 5 to 12 instead of maybe 10 to 12 and when i rev the bike it doesnt rotate how it should, if i move the exup by hand and do the ignition its back to centre how it should, any help would be great coz i know you are a great bunch of chaps on here. also does the tps have any bearing on what the exup does as i have set it to 5 spot on and today adjusted it with engine running at 3800 and moved it to get the highest revs which was 4500 and all this has made no change, sorry and i get no error codes for either exup or tps

hi, decided to sell my 03 fazer 1000 its done  23723 miles, in silver but unfortunately the previous owner had a small accident and smashed the fairing so it has a street fighter look now with twin dominators and a small wind deflector i have since serviced the bike with oil, filter and k&n air filter new iridium plugs and front pads as rear pads are fine, just fitted venhill hoses on the front  and also have short gold levers with gold renthal bars. it has a micron can and original comes with sale also fitted is a colour coded pyramid undertray with back light incorporating the indicators. datatool system 3 alarm, there a few scratches but nothing serious , bike runs fine and does does what it should. just fancy another sports bike and is the only reason for the sale
looking for £1650
will add photos tomorrow if its not bloody raining
caant seem to upoad photos here so here is a flicker link, theses were taken a few weeks back before the gold short levers

« on: 17 March 2012, 10:53:14 am »
the bike is o3 i bought it last july, its got 21k on the clock but was dropped and has no fairing and now fitted with twin dominators i have since put renthal bars and bar mirrors on it and just reently done the service. to be honest i thought it was me not having any throttle control as im getting old now lol but it was after a swap with my friend who also commented on it but he also thought it was himself as not being used to the bike. for sure if i had 2 or 3 hunderd quid laying around i would defo have the ivans full monty done by Falcon but just dont have the funds. i am close to selling the bike as sometimes i feel its going to spit me off. like i say the throttle is what i call all or nothing which is great when your after a quick getaway not not so great when going slow in traffic
thanks again for the replies
cheers Mick

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Throttle Problem
« on: 15 March 2012, 09:03:29 pm »
not sure if its just my fazer or its the norm but the best way i can explain is all oor nothing, if i try to be gentle with the throttle lets say round an island its very hard to get smooth throttle if at all possible, its very jerky and maybe too responsive, at first i thought it was me not used to the fazer but my friend has an r1 and said exaxtly the same, we swapped for a while the other day and found his r1 much much better throttle control, any ides what can be the cause or is this normal, carbs have been balanced around 1000 miles ago throttle has been adjusted (not at carbs) new fuel just done a service, filter oil plugs. also what is correct carb mixture (how many turns) k&n filter and micron can not been ivanized :{

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Exup Servo
« on: 19 January 2012, 05:54:56 pm »
i have removed the servo and its definatley that, but if they are known to crackle im fine with that, and done my xup service and it still works fine. as with the back light i have found 2 of the leds faulty i now know its not electrical on the bike as i have plugged in into a 12v power supply and still did the same so hopefully with the new leds it will be fine
thanks for the help chaps

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Exup Servo
« on: 18 January 2012, 08:36:25 pm »
hi all, strange post and not sure if its normal but my xup servo is making a strange type of electrical surge noise, very much like if you arc accross a battery and get a small spark. i dont mean the normal noise you get from the servo moving and its constantly there while egnition is on. ive got an led back light and the numberplate lite is flickering so i thought it was a bad earth or something  so while i was investigating this i heard a noise around the engine and found it to be the servo so removed it and opened it up to find lots of plastic cogs and couldnt see a way to the electrical side so put it back together and still have this noise. is it normal or do i need to worry about it or just plug in the ipod and say fook it lol, been accross my mates and checked his R1 and no noise at all
any help would be great thanks
Cheers Mick
