book value?
« on: 22 February 2016, 03:44:02 pm »
Has anyone got a price guide? what I need to know is what is a fair payout when my bike is written off?
I can find bikes for sale at dealers but not with the mileage mine has done.
It's a FZ6N first reg. june 2006 with 45,600 miles on the clock. it is all standard except small fly screen, tyres were new 400 miles ago, and was in very good condition for year and mileage.
The price that should be offered is what I would have to pay to replace the bike from a reputable dealer.

look on Bike Trader, ebay etc for classified ads. Find the ones closest to yours and use that as a guide. I would suspect, with the mileage and age, somewhere around £1500 but may be able to get £1800 if you look for longer.

prices are 2k up to 2,900 for low mileage, I was thinking 2,250 would leave me with 2k after excess? trade in would be 700 to 1200 which is what I think they will start at, or I could tell them to find a replacement as I'm not in any rush, upto 14 weeks for shoulder to mend and still got another bike in garage?
