Good idea Captain Haddock... you will have to keep us updated on how it goes..

I looked into making one myself, even just a simple temp gauge.. as i was not confident with just the fan going on and off to control the temp.... i have come from a ZX9r and that had a temp gaugewhich i did use a lot.. but not being an electronics engineer i gave up when i found this multi gauge from Christian..

This one from Christian (Schlumpf on FZ10A forum) in Germany?

Seems to be well worth it for all the info it gives...

I have one ordered with him an it should be here by Feb.. ani will follow Pats excellent write upfor install..

Have PM'd Devilsyam :)

Choking on the prices of the posh stuff atm :eek

:lol    You will not be disappointed at the service, cost and quality of Lukes work mate...

He is the dogs nads when it comes to shocks... my R6 shock from him is perfect... and you are right .. i looked around at the alternatives first... and have not regretted my decision to go with DEVILSYAM shock and bones.... its so simple.. arrives all machined and ready to slot in with some handy instructions... took best part of an hour but i was also cleaning a load of stuff in there that you cannot usuallly get too...

any idea what caused it to burn out ???

Hi... if you have not checked or looked at this connector yet then read here...

http://www.yamahafz1oa.com/eskortsdefectiveconnectorreplacement.shtml

Worth checking... only takes 5 mins to lift the petrol tank and you don't want to be stranded on the side of the road in the great British weather...  :'(

Anyway ... job only took less than an hour.. with a break for coffee and a tab...

I got the connectors off Ebay for £6.50... Anderson Pole connectors 30 amp rated.. here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190494771338?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Some more photos..

Soldered

Clips on..

Cable tied and done...

if you get some one to hold a hammer head against the oposite side of the link then if you assemble the link and then centre punch the ends af the link with a centre punch thats what i did the last time worked a treat

Ditto... as quote... just whacked with centre punch an large hammer on other side... sweet

« on: 13 December 2011, 12:37:01 pm »

Hi Chaps...

Thanks for the quick replies.... been out in the shed all morning tinkering..  8)

and..

Yes ... 116 is doable.... numpty me had not undone the brake torque arm bolt which was not letting it swing around its centre... and keeping the axle a couple of millimeters off of the swingarm face...  once i had undone this and moved it around a little it allowed the axle to butt up against the swingarm giving me plenty of slack in the chain..

Mike... Pats site is an absoloute gem... its is to blame for all my tinkering...  :lol

Thanks guys..

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Quick Chain help..!
« on: 13 December 2011, 09:26:36 am »

Hi ..

Change my rear sprocket out for a 46t (standard 44t)...  8)

Now the chain is way tight... these bikes need a lot of slack.. the axle is right up against the adjusters.. there is no more slack towards the front..

Question.... Standard Fazer Thou (insert prefered brand name) is a 530 chain with 116 links....

Now the R1 uses a 530 - 118 link chain and the CBR1000 uses a 530 -120 link chain..

Which do you reckon to get some slack back .. 118 links or 120 links...??   :)
