For Sale & Wanted / Haynes Manual - Fazer 1000 Gen 1
« on: 02 February 2012, 12:35:02 pm »
Anyone want a used Haynes manual for a Fazer 1000 gen 1?

£10 posted in the UK

Only bought 6 months ago, all pages present and readable, spine solid

Note it is well used (greased and creased) and a house proud person might not want it on the bookshelf!

PM me if interested

Cheers
Ian

Hi All

Sadly trading in the Fazer, but giving an opportunity to any forum member or visitor to buy first.

The dealer is offering £2,500 against a heavily discounted pre-reg Hornet, so any offer greater than that is a winner.

A few facts:
Registered April 2004
Mileage 21,600
MOT Expiry 4 March 2012
Last dealer service August 2009 at 16,275 miles
Everything works as it should - electrical and mechanical
No significant corrosion, scratches, dents, or damage
No marks and cracks on fairing or tank
No rips or tears in seat
Exhaust 100% sound
Generally good condition and well looked after
In last 6 months: new chain and sprockets, new air filter, new oil and filter, new brake fluid, new fork oil, exup valve service, and spark plugs checked and cleaned
Plenty of wear left in pads/discs, tyres ok for another 1,000 miles+
Extras include: Full luggage as seen on photos (at least 2 keys per case), fender extender, hugger, mudguard, engine bars, and Puig touring screen.

A few small photos below - others available if wanted - please PM me

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Help fitting chain
« on: 26 December 2011, 11:55:40 am »
Hope everyone had a good Xmas.

Had a bit of trouble riveting the "soft link" on my new chain. After hours of using what muscles I have I broke my chain riveter and although I caused an indentation on the ends of the soft links it was not enough to stop me being able to push the link straight back through.

The link is not hollow and I really can't see how any tool could cause it to flare enough to be safe. Has anyone else had this problem? I am thinking of buying a different soft link that is easier to flare.

Any tips appreciated.

Cheers
Ian

Photo shows the unflared pins!

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Front Sprocket Nut Removal
« on: 23 December 2011, 03:47:08 pm »
Excitedly started on the job to replace chain and sprockets on my 04 gen 1 (beats Xmas shopping) and I can't even get the front sprocket nut off! Following all the Haynes guidance such as put in gear and put rear brake on hard but it won't budge. Sprayed it with WD40 and gave it a few gentle knocks with a hammer.

Did anyone face this and if so how did you overcome it?

I need help quick before I have to go back in the house.

Cheers
Ian

PS Assume it is anti-clockwise to remove
