I can confirm if your carb rubbers are only externally cracked and you're happy with a quick cosmetic fix, a single strip of amalgamating tape with a small overlap so it grips works well. Save yourself loads of beer tokens in the process.

Felt down lol..hey matey the stock headlamps are crap and I'm not surprised yours are falling apart. Slap in a couple of xenon projector hids instead :-)))) a fair few of us fellow box eye Fazer owners have done this mod now. Need a weekend and 70 quid to do it.

I dropped a dowell somewhere when I did the cam chain on mine. I thought it went into the pot as spark plugs were out. Had rags blocking most openings.
I was fearing the worst so decided to remove the cams again and found the dowell hiding in a part of the casting hidden when cams were on. Oh my god such a relief when I found it. Hope you have the same relief when you locate the missing dowell. Cheers Gav 31

Yeah nuts came off with 2 Mins of Wd40 soak and engine startup to warm em up a bit. Came off no problem. I must be the lucky one. Not going to attempt to remove the studs though. Even though I have a new shiny set on the shelf.

Whipped off bellypan and downpipes for a spuce up. Sanded em back a tad ready for a coat of black hi temp paint tomorrow. Also wanted to replace the downpipe header studs but they're not.budging so rather than accidently snapping one off,I'm leaving them. Just new gaskets n nuts. Also cleaning the crud off the front of the engine and repaint with Granville engine paint with a brush.
Finish it tomorrow bright n early as I've got the day off. 34

Today went n Mot'd my '00 FZS600 and passed no problem. Having it sail through the MOT made it all worth while sorting the suspension and swingarm roller bearings n shafts n bushes + a splatter of good ol' TLC. Nice! all up together ready for the warmer season.

100mile round trip to Shaftesbury Dorset oooaarrrr get off my land
In the Freezing fog this morn. Collected some spares from the office then back home. Bloomin eck I had to ride a lot of the last leg with my visor up, heading into Shaftesbury as it was crazily dense fog and started to mist up inside nooooooo. Ride back was better after a coffee and I'd thawed out my hands I was hoping to take a spectacular photo of bike in the countryside but too foggy so photo when I got home instead 40

Pretty sure the flap inside was flat. Will twist the lamp a fraction and also adjust horizontal beam a bit. Well come the MOT I will find out if I need to mod the flaps. Cheers for taking the time to reply with all the pics. Good reference.

Do a search for xenon M328 or here http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=181344039159 Give yourself a weekend to do the job. Or chip away at it over 3 or 4 evenings kind of thing. It's getting the electrics neat and safely installed that takes up half the time. 45

Yeah mate, there is a solenoid inside the unit that actuates a little flap providing full and dipped beam.

Finally got around to installing a couple of 2.5" Xenon M328 HID projector units into my '00 Fazer 600. Evenings are getting lighter now, so a bit late but never mind it needed doing!
Here's a video of my install which may be of interest to anybody thinking of doing the same mod: http://youtu.be/4WHzQHNGmWg 49
