Thanks for the eBay links b1k3r!
The one set of clocks looks tidy (I don't trust the other dealer...very bad reputation on the Warrior forum when I was a member).

The cooling fan relay is the one behind the left side cover, around £80 new! 🫣😵‍💫

Here are the facts of Wezmoto as told to me by Hel....this is 1st hand info but a few years ago...I was actually at Hel HQ having some custom hoses made for my previous bike...a nice bunch of guys.
(Having started out as a bike hose maker, Hel still offer(ed?) a bikers "ride in" price & service. Living nearby I did exactly that!).

Wez / Wes at that time had a business arrangement with Hel whereby he went in after hours & used their machines & stock to make up his own brand hoses. The only things he was not allowed to use were Hel's exclusive designs or logo'd parts.

Wezmoto quoted an address a few miles away which I had already checked out...it was just an out of the way garage run by his pal who let him use the address for eBay returns.

As for the quality & service I have no personal experience but judging by this thread, I'm glad I always use genuine Hel stuff!  :rolleyes

Exactly! It’s the diode that’s “blown” in my relay!

Hi, hard to read the numbers but I think they were all the same relay, mine's a 2004, thanks!

I’ve wired around if for now just to get back on the road but if anyone has a surplus one for sale, please get in touch! 👍😁

Meanwhile.......... :rolleyes

Fitted a full s/h set of coils, leads & caps from Fleabay.....bike now running slightly reluctantly at certain revs!  :(
As my only problem was broken plug caps I think the s/h coils may be dodgy so I'll put my originals back & just use the Fleabay plug caps!

No such thing as an easy job!  :\

Sorted now! Missed the set Pie Eater linked to but found some others!
No NGK caps are suitable, OEM are crazy £ so used parts is the only way to go!

Hi, has anyone got any good condition spark plug caps for a Gen1 1000 for sale?
Servicing my bike showed up some distinctly dodgy caps! 😳

This is an awesome project....great skill & expertise involved all the way through!
I am saving right now for mine!

Much better than the Koso unit I have now.  :)

Hi,
I had the same issue....if you ask Mike (Falcon269) he might "Ivanise" some standard inlets for you.
That way, you can buy any good condition used, or new, inlet rubbers & post them to the expert to be done!
Cheers,
Andy.

Ah, hello! Yes, sorry about not responding....I have been dying of a serious bout of Man Flu...I have survived by the skin of my teeth & am just about alive!.........naturally I suffered in silence, as I kept telling everyone!  :rollin

Indeed as Mr Pie states, I have an aftermarket Koso digital dash & the rev readout has ceased suctioning. usually I believe these units pack up completely so I want to eliminate ant bike related issues foirst.
The Koso rev counter wire is simply soldered to the original feed wire - where I removed the OEM dashboard.

Is there a simple way ('cos I'm a simpleton  :o ) to test whether or not the rev sender unit thingumajig is working?
Thanks!  :)

That looks lovely Andy - do you have a full bike photo, I've heard of someone wanting to get that type of design on a 600 Fazer and they'd like to see what it could look like.

Here's some pics!  :D

Hi,
I haven't checked in for a while so didn't see your post! :rolleyes ...I'll find some pics & put them up.
 :)

In your opinion. I think that cut down rear mudguards look like the bike has been poorly repaired after a rear end collision. Having a stick on reflector re-enforces the look. Each to his own.
Really? Really???

Seeing as Gen 1 parts are most unlikely to be re-made and values are widely predicted to increase (on here at least) I would think long and hard before cutting down a perfectly good rear mud guard. The value difference between an 4XV R1 that's intact at the rear and one that isn't proves the point.
Like most of us who modify our bikes, I too tend to get a used "whatever-it-is" to modify & keep standard the part for use when reselling....I've got all the "take-off" parts from my Fazer.

"...widely predicted to increase..."
Whose doing the predicting?
There were such a large amount of Gen 1's made anyway that I can't see that used parts will become very scarce or prices likely to rise significantly, especially amidst the owners forum....this is a community of like minded owners & enthusiasts after all, not an internet bike breakers.

Hi Skid, how're you doing?

If you now have a new, higher seat does that mean you'll sell your standard seat?....I too want to get a spare seat on which to have the height raised.........

Me too...cheap, fast & effective! :D

From a personal standpoint.......yes :) .

I agree - I have been trying the Metzler Roadtec 01s for a while & they are pricey but excellent & I find the mileage good.

Is it me or do they look a bit dirty ?  If they clean up, I'll have them. If it's ground in, I'll leave it.
