R1 shock from 2008 model + satan666 adapter for Yamaha FZ1 2nd generation. Suitable for bikes without ABS only. No modifications required for the bike, direct replacement. Raises the bike a little bit. Improves rear suspension quite a lot, smoother riding quality in general. Fully adjustable (preload, fast/slow compression damping, rebound damping). Rare item as these adapters is hard to get. Selling due to bike being sold with OEM bits. If any questions, please let me know. Thanks!

Mitas release some new touring tyres this year. Their own Sport Force model had some good reviews. Maybe worth a try on these ones? Their price is tasty too.

Seems like a popular mod  :D

Anyway it is finally done and advise would be: don't bother.

In my case it was not a mod, but fix, as I have bought FZ1 with bent forks unfortunately. Only noticed it when brought bike for a forks service.

Being on a budget, best cheapest fix was a goal. Finally i have found 2002 R1 forks, as i thought they will be an easy swap, i could keep FZ1 brake calipers, rotors. It wasn't. You need a smaller rotors, R1 axle, and so on. Finally end up just using R1 forks outer and inner tubes with FZ1 internals. It was cheaper than getting replacement parts or finding used FZ1 forks, which is hard to find as it turned out.

Final result is good, bike back on the road.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / R1 2002-2003 forks to FZ1 gen 2
« on: 20 September 2019, 01:07:29 pm »
Hi guys,
browsing the internet for quite a while now, i couldn't find any appropriate info about R1 forks swap from these particular year, 2002-2003. 99.9% info is about swaps taking 2004 and later years R1 forks.
Have anyone tried fitting 2002-2003 R1 forks to FZ1? What parts required, etc.
2004 and above option is not available for me.
Thanks!
