If anyone living in or near Bristol and is looking for a major service and can,t afford Fowlers prices , i would recommend JHS racing at the end of Keysham bypass ( behind supermarket ) £ 336 compared to £ 505 .

Just to through in my quick two cents, the guys at Morpheus Motorcycles (Two Mile Hill in Kingswood) were fantastic when I used them for the bits and pieces I couldn't do myself.

My brother in law takes his blade there and got itdyno'd and the suspension set up at reasonable cost

I think that that is the same JHS racing that the Fastbikes magazine use as they are based in Bath.

I think anywhere is better than foulups. I've never known them provide a good service, the work is generally poor and excessively priced.

People were calling them by that name back at the start of the 1980s when I lived in Bristol, but they must be doing something right if they're still around after all that time...

Dreadful place, but have to use them for parts, even if you get your parts from another dealer the dealer will often be supplied by Fowlups. Apparently they are the largest part importer (Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM, Piaggio, Triumph etc franchise) in Europe but shit. Not surprising if you look at the size of their warehouse.
Per hour rate in the workshop will be the highest around - avoid. Also you will never know who is working on your bike.
I'm clearly not a fan but still go there for a window shop. They are probably still around as they have been around for years and probably don't have the debt commitments of some other dealers.

I knew of JHS when he was operating out of what was basically a shed & had a lot of respect. However, I went to the new place hoping for some help & advice setting up my SV650 Minitwin (I was intending to put some money their way). I was treated like a piece of muck on someone's shoe. I'd like to think it was a one off but I'm certainly not going to go back in a hurry.
I can't say that really like Fowlers sales but I've never had a problem with the parts counter. Although I do tend to go in with part numbers taken from a fiche so know exactly what I'm asking for.
I put my CBR6 into the Fowlers workshop for its first big service (16k) in Nov 1995ish & it came back like a new bike. My garage even smelled like a showroom for a week so I was very impressed until my mate put his FZR in for a similar service & it came back with a list of problems.
So, draw from these comments whatever you want to but in my experience finding a place you know & trust can be a very personal thing.
