How much do you want for the Beowulf Stainless Steel Radiator Guard/Protector??

Does this allow the sides to still be used?

See the seized compression adjuster threads, does this just mean the screw at the bottom of forks will not turn any clicks?

They both moved OK when we played with the settings at Joe's, mate. :)

Yeah that was a March thread, Mine are ok for now. :)

Hi Mike

Thanks again for doing the Ivan's upgrade on my Fazer on Sunday 9th.

After the initial spluttering (I suspect just caused by the fuel getting through!) it performed beautifully all the way home.
I have had a similar problem in the past when the bike has not been run for a long time.

Sorry that I could not hang around on Sunday and chat with you guys, but my Wife's mother was very ill and passed away the next morning.

Also I have not had a chance to test the bike thoroughly as I dislocated my hip on the Monday afternoon.
(It had been replaced in 2013 due to a skiing accident!)

I have been on the bus this week, but hope to be back on the bike next week so will get a chance to test it thoroughly then.

I do love the Fazer and thanks again Mike, for making it even more loveable!

Dave...

Hi Dave,

Chris here.

Glad the problem seems to have resolved, look forward to a follow up report once your healed and getting to use the bike a bit more, I was down Portpatrick way on Sunday about 320 miles and its a been great.

Don't worry about not hanging about, I don't think Mike was expecting it, we were all just loitering and drinking Joe's fine coffee. Sorry to hear of the passing too, condolences.

Hopefully see you on the road some time, as I'm not far from the ferry.

Well been a good day, my thou has joined the ivanised ranks.

Massive thanks to Mike, sorted the kit first thing then took the time to do some suspension tweeks, can't wait to get out on the bike and do some miles with the new setup.

Also massive thanks to Joe, the host with the most. Nice to meet Jim and Dave too, we all spend most of the day together talking.

Devilsym does the R6 shock but its the FZS1000 he does this for. Kebab19 does the FZS600 R6 shock, but i am not sure if anyone has a mod for the FZ6.. Different bike.

The emmulators linked will be for FZS600 so again will not work on an FZ6 i'd imagine.

Looks like rain all day tomorrow in Scotland, i'm in Edinburgh and not looking forward to the commute.

Do you have stops planned? Edinburgh is a hot spot for theft just now, if you are stopping here or close by then please bring security, they are targeting guest house and foreign bikes.

If you are heading along the A84 passed Tyndrum there is a massive police presence there now, stick to all 30's and keep the eyes peeled.

Enjoy, and hope the weather is kind.

So your getting £1400 and its not written off? Well done if that's the case.

My 99 fzs600 was knocked over by a driver while stationary in a car park, she asked about paying the damage. I gave her a list of what was needed, was only about £400, she decided to go via insurance, which i found weird but i was getting bike fixed, so happy. Well the insurance ended up writting the bike off, i was offered £1600 or £1278 and keep the bike, thought i'd won a watch. Went to Europe, repaired the bike and got a shed.... Only now do i realise how its not all a plain as you think. I have to declare the accident, ok as a non fault but it has to be declared and this has affected my insurance for both bike and other policies, this could be bad luck on my part or the true picture. I was added to my Partners brothers van insurance, he asked all my details and i had to supply the claim info, he said with out the claim his policy went up £30 a year... with the claim it was up £80 a year. Just because it all looks well just now, it could change the future.

Mine is like this

Normal filter with slip on exhaust. I wondered if i had a small air leak somewhere? I am due to see Mike in July for some Ivanising so maybe he will find something while doing that...

« on: 07 April 2017, 09:27:00 am »
Thanks guys

I am a total newbie and not a great man on the spanners so this will more than likely be a job for a mechanic but i know that some will ask for a OEM replacement as best option, but i want the options so i can take it to the man.

I did look at the All Ball Bearings ones on Wemoto too, but got Wheel Bearings from Marksman and all was great with fast dispatch and i know a few others use them too.

Will have a think...

So while doing the forks i have noticed the head bearings are notchy, quite bad, so need new. Now when i look at the Yamaha parts its about £100.

I have seen the Marksman kit http://shop.marksman-ind.com/yamaha-fz1-2001---05-headrace--steering-kits-23350-p.asp, from what i read the tapered bearings are better was will last longer, if i buy the marksman kit will i need anything else for the job? Better to replace any wee cheap parts while in there is they are perishable.

Seen this topic http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,7518.0.html and it has me a bit worried on that the parts will all fit fine? There is a rubber washer mentioned, any idea on part number?
