Title: Luggage from a Fazer 1000 on an FZS600?
Post by: ChristoT on 20 November 2012, 02:17:58 pm
Hi all,

I've found a rather nice set of hard luggage for a 2003 Fazer 1000, complete with rack on the interwebs, and was wondering whether this would fit my 2001 FZS600?

The ad says they're made by Krauser.

Many thanks!

The rack won't be a direct fit

What differences would there be? Width, length, height? I ask because I do quite a few miles to get home (Northern France) after my Uni term, and would prefer something tougher than the soft bags I have at the moment. And something that'll be cheap to buy and modify (if needed).  :)

Cant do a direct comparison, but...
The 1000 back end is more pointy so the 'arms' are probably not wide enough for the 600. There certainly isnt as much internal, underseat storage on the 1000 compared to the 600.
The rack's lower mounting points are usually connected to the pillion footrest mounting brackets, which are almost certainly in different positions on the two bikes.

You'd be better sourcing a Givi Wingrack 2 as there is a Fazer600 specific fitting kit; then adding 3 cases of your choosing. Krauser cases probably not interchangeable. Here's my old 600 with a Wingrack 2 setup: a 45litre top case & two 21 litre side cases :

Beware, tho that with that setup, there's NO ROOM for pillions to rest their feet properly, unless they have feet the size of a small child.  So if you also carry a pillion the 3 case GIVI setup won't work (which was why I then sold this stuff on)
