Hey Garyb, how did you find the weight reduction affected performance???, has it increased the mpg figures? :D

Also, would you like to purchase a full set of Blue silicone coolant hoses from me £150.

Also - what engines did you have in those sun loungers in the background :lol
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

MPG is up for sure, seems like she's running on air these days!

Re: blue hoses - sorry no interest mate!

Had a couple of 50cc two strokes in them loungers before the strip down - hoping to upgrade to 125cc, so will stand a chance of beating them bleeding Germans for a spot by the pool!!

Booked it in for next Weds to have this little glitch looked at, so hopefully it'll be sorted ready for Ivanising time. Went to Swindon for a bite and a cuppa, nearly home when I noticed my bike was nodding at everyone :eek Got home to find one of the main fairing bracket bolts had fallen out! So every time I hit a bump, the whole fairing literally nodded up and down! Fortunately there are two bolts, one above the other, so it was still firmly secured to the bike. Didn't have a suitable bolt in the garage, so went to the local stealers, who came up with what I needed. I think I'll have to go over all the chassis nuts and bolts to make sure there are no other little surprises like that waiting for me. :\

Ya know, "Make sure your fairing won't fall off" is a Yamaha recommended pre-ride check!!  :lol

put some foam under the black bits on the  inner fairing to stop the worlds most annoying buzz at certain RPMs. quick ride out and all is well :)

Practically wins out over looks for me!

Nice little ride to Ripley to meet up with a work colleague. Then home again and fitted an old D lock into the disc for added security.

Just need to remember that when I come to take it out again!  :eek

Ordered piston seals for the front and rear calipers for £35 all in,  just need to clean up the pistons when putting the seals in to give the brakes new life.

Might go for new sintered pads too. Then all that's left is braided hoses. Maybe for xmas

With some guidance from Luke (Mr Fazerpedia) and some parts out of his garage I treated my baby to some R1 upsidown forks.

No wind up. Honest.

Luke: Very tidy! However, I'm going for something rather more... industrial!!  :lol

2 wheels, max width, max length, steel body and a gas strut supported lid, being built by me with (a lot) of help from a friend.  :)

2 wheels, steel body - pulled by 33hp? What exactly is it you need to put in a trailer? (if it's not a personal question of course). Have you really thought this thing through? I have moments of confusion in my life, but this....

Seen me heading for home with panniers?!? The bluddy bags are wider than my bars, and make it handle like a tractor!!

I have thought it through, the max speed I can do is 60mph in the UK, and the same in Europe. So the 33 brake will be more than sufficient. Will lighten the load on the rear wheel too.

Genuine question: Will the Longest/Widest (heaviest?) Trailer available to you ride any less like a tractor? I genuinely dont know - no experience of riding with a trailer in tow.

Possibly, but it'll be more comfy for me!! My reasons:

- The trailer can carry more than my panniers
- Will be waterproof (my panniers aren't)
- The bike will lean better round corners
- There will be less load on the rear wheel ( the mounting bracket for the tow bar will be fitted to the pillion peg mounts, and the trailer load will be 40% rear, 60& front over the trailer axle)

Acceleration will be down (no surprise), but cruising down the motorway should be that little bit nicer. And as I'll be doing 1,000 miles on motorways
on my way home via Holland - that's a good thing. AND it'll help me move out of Uni in 2 years' time.

A future Foccer (FB friend from a group) has a gold Fazer, and tows behind it without drama. And the friend helping me build mine tows a max size trailer... behind a twin cylinder 125!!  :eek And he says he hardle notices it, even when very well loaded.

I think ahead, I do.  :lol :lol

well there you go - learn something new everyday :)

although, if your mounting to the pillion peg, wont that mean the trailer affects the rear suspension on the bike? if you mounted it to the swingarmlike luke it would be "lighter" as it is unsprung weight?

I look forward to seeing it anyway, sounds like an interesting build (I asume you will have some sort of "swivel" mounting so you can still lean over with it fitted?)
