Had a very busy couple of days during which I've fitted a double bubble screen which has made life a lot quieer and less tiring on my 6' 1" frame. Fitted a Loobman chain oiler, much cheaper to buy than a Scottoiler and you can used any oil you like in it. Fitted a voltmeter and an ambient temperature gauge into the fairing and finally fitted a rear rack. The rear rack was actually purchased from one of our focu members johnakay and fits perfectly. It even drew praise from my missus and that doesn't happen very often.  :rolleyes
Never underestimate the ingenuity of an idiot!

Voltmeter and Ambient temperature gauge fitted with cable ties because I didn't want to drill any holes.
johnakay's excellent rear rack, looks perfect.

Fitted a new tank pad, bike never had one, I use a rucksack with waist buckles so one is needed...
New wheel rim stickers to go on maybe tomorrow as looks like the weather will put stop to much riding this weekend...

So I am pretty sure that the old battery is gone altough it is only 1,5 years old  :eek

Now I am completely sure  :)
When I removed my nice yellow battery from the bike the voltage was 9,8 V.
I charged it with my Ctek MXS 5.0 in bike mode.
When the Ctek showed that charging is complete I disconnected it.
Voltage on the battery was only 12,62 V. Normally it should be at least 12,8 V direct after disconnection.
After one hour the voltage dropped to 11,69 V....

Gave it a good clean, first time since the Mugello,Nurberg trip two weeks ago,

Yesterday put a new chain and sprocket on,,fucked the original on a long motorway run at 90mph and forgot to oil it,,although it owed me nowt as it had done 20,000 miles.
While rear wheel was out I could give the hub, wheel a good degrease.

Also Nick Crisp called in for his long lost belongings, last seen being cut off by medics at the base of a hedge  :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol
There was a dormouse in his top pocket and four blackbirds eggs in the lower pocket and a 3 leaf clover inside :lol :lol :lol :lol

We observed my new rear Metzeler z8interact was showing very little wear considering the 3,400 miles I just did on it, loads of motorway miles and two sessions on the Nurberg forula one track,,well pleased with that :b

Fitted new rear tyre and pads, then went for a scrub in ride.

Came across a little reminder to take those deer signs more seriously. :eek

Had some fun with some deer the other week - granted it was very late at night along a pitch black B road

Never seen them out before and then suddenly there were groups of 3-5 of them just wandering across the road...

Well, the Midden came round mine this afternoon and we had an awesome run down to Rye, no traffic but Clipped a rabbit on the way down, killed it outright but it didn't go to waste. :D

Met a real character down at Rye who talked non stop for over an hour and was an expert at everything. :rolleyes
He set up Middens suspension and showed me how to hang off the bike properly and get my knee down.
I've got to say, it was one of the most entertaining days I've ever had and me and Midden was crying with laughter
In all fairness, the man was very knowledgeable and we wasn't being ungrateful but, he just left himself open to the infamous Foccer pisstake.
I think he knew we was taking the piss but he took it very well........Well it's only fair isn't it.

We managed to escape for cod and chips and the man moved on to his next victim (who had short back and sides when we left them :lol

Had an equally good ride on the way home, avoiding all the traffic  and making the most of the twisties.

Got back to mine, cracked open a cider and Midden prepared our roadkill for the pot.

A good day. :)

Photos to follow, having trouble attaching them

Went for a bimble through what is called locally as the "Gwaun valley", cutting through the centreof North Pembrokeshire, single track but worth a mooch, ended up at the Presseli Hills...only 40 miles, just a relaxed ride.

130 miles round trip. Wrexham, Ruthin, St Asaph, Llanrwst, Conwy, Sychnant Pass, Llanfairfechan, (dinner at cafe), Colwyn Bay, St Asaph, Denbigh, Ruthin, Nant y Garth, home. Really warm and humid. Stopped at the Cayley, Rhos on Sea for a drink on the way home. First time I haven't seen a Go Safe van for a long time. Probably in the Bala area after the crash last Sunday.
