Nicks bike has crash damage and still looks better than mine does at the moment :| It's absolutely covered in crap from the roads but I place my trust in the ACF treatment it had. Planning on getting it redone in a few weeks ready for Spring and Summer with mostly sunny miles I hope. Commuting will be done by a Dead Eye powered cycle instead...

Changed the fork oil and fitted new fork seals....one of the damper rods put up a fight but the broom handle trick soon sorted that out......

I had mine done by All Year Biker with their super foam washing stuff and ACF :) I'm far too lazy to deal with it myself... prefer to spend my time fettling and fixing rather than cleaning - that is when I'm not riding ;)

Went for my first gentle bimble since the bike show last november, felt great to be back out on 2 wheels again, needed to get a few miles under my belt again before I test ride the Tracer on wednesday.ive just measured the Fazer width and compared it to the Tracer, and im 4 inches to long !! It will be tight getting the Tracer through the 2 gates that I need to to get round the back to my flat, but its do able I think-i might need to relocate 1 of the gates but it'll be worth it
and then I found this on the rear tyre, its pretty squared off anyway so it needs replacing anyway but I was hoping on going up to Bristol on the bike on wednesday so I hope my local bike shop can source and fit a new tyre by tuesday

Had Dazza round to look at my rear calliper and hopefully get it working again but it's focked.  We could get the pistons to move out using the brake pedal but getting them back in required some serious g-clamping and even then they wouldn't go back in all the way (even with the reservoir cap off).  I need the bike for crack of sparrow Thursday so will give it to the garage to strip and clean.  :o

Good luck with the test ride bud, remember theres no mechanical sympathy needed with a demo bike so wring its neck & see what its got.

Also remember if you're willing to spend 8k on a bike then an additional pittance could change the bars to ones that do fit through the space, even if you get someone official to do it for you, just coz thats the bars they put on doesnt mean they're the best bars for you anyway. Easy for me to say being a destroyer of older bike's i know :lol

A colleague at work went for a test ride, he owns an old Africa Twin, he wasnt overly enthusiastic but he liked it (foccin bastard has too much money clearly) he then went for a spin on a new ish Honda Deauville which i was pleading with him not to get on the night shift...right enough he had a test ride and even he thought it was Dull.

Seriously though if i was you id give that MT07 a chance too, i bet it's all you'll ever need, you're also welcome to try my FZ1 coz you can get them for a tuppence and with an MT07 or used FZ1 then you have extra dosh left over to enjoy the trips that you do on them, top food, beer, barmaids.

Fitted some new carbon shiney bits. Made a bit of work for myself actually as need to do some touch up work where the rear hugger has rubbed away the paint on the swingarm.

Please dont rip me about my chicken strips.

Is it possible to buy pistons on their own?

new Avon Storm rear tyre fitted to replace the squared off one that was on there when I brought it and that got a split in it last sunday.
had a nice ride home the long way in the march sunshine to try to bed it in before my ride to Bristol tomorow for my test ride on the Tracer, bit worried that riding a new bike will show up the Fazers bad points !!

Brooker, are you happy now mate, you have finally achieved greatness by getting that bellypan, plus you know you've got somewhere when you have a bike carpet  8)

I feel like you arent doing me any favours by showing your bike, i just seen how shiny your exhaust is but i dont reckon i can afford a new one :(

Plus is that 2 mismatched fasteners i see on the front fairing.......tut tut, slacking :b
