Nice lights... Good job... But that brake lever says "dropped"

Yes it does!

It had been over (quite hard I think) before my tenure. And I gently dropped it once myself. Works well for me though, I have long fingers!

So less 'dropped', more 'Forcefully adjusted'!!

Mistakes I have made today:
Got up at 4am for a romantic walk in the park to listen to the dawn chorus.
Went for a bike ride and forgot my hi-vis vest.
Went back for my vest and forgot where I was going to go.
Got lost and ended up in Brecon.
Got lost on the way home and ended up in Ledbury.
Did a 220 mile route over 6 hours with a mega sore arse and killing knees resulting. I can hardly walk!
But the biggest mistake was booking standing tickets for Nine Inch Nails tonight. Gonna really regret that!  :lol

On the bright side, before going out I checked the electrics as per Unfazed's advice. There was a lot of gunk around the kill switch which I cleaned out (checked there first because I figured plug/coil malfunctions would lead to a misfire before killing it completely), so hopefully it won't happen again. I also blew the 15amp alarm fuse again so that may be the cause of the alarm problems too.

I reckon my bike's old enough to start developing 'character' so I'll forgive it.  ;)

First decent ride of the year for me, left Ottery, bacon bap at Exeter, on to Tiverton then picked up the A396 thru Dunster to Minehead, a lovely road with great scenery and apart from the cyclists and the odd suicidal pheasant a very beautiful part of the world, then back via the A358 to Taunton, quick blat down the M5 to clear out the various cyclist limbs littering the sharp parts of the bike, off at Cullompton and cross country to home. Just what a Sunday should be  :)

220mile in 6 hours were you stopped in Brecon for a long time?  :rollin

What mileage is on that bike? as you know mine is the same vintage and also the fastest colour and always had character  :lol It is presently being used around south Wales by my son. You cannot miss it it has R1 gold spot Calipers and 03C Irish registration.

Hi Noggy how did all the small adjustments to the Gen2 Handlebars, Clutch, brake and gear levers work out?  more fun to ride now? :lol

Oh yeh i forgot to thank you for that suggestion....ye of keen eye & mile munching abilities.

Spot on :thumbup .......no sore right wrist so it must have worked.

I took the hand clutch lever right in so theres only a small bite but as my grip is further to clenched it is much more controllable on the clutch and at taking off and slow traffic stuff.....before hand i was actually slipping the clutch and thinking the bike was too heavy to get momentum...after a tweak then woolah....i can move off without any throttle :) .

I was still having to lift my clutch foot too high to change gear so more adjustment required there.

I still need to sort out my left hand cornering too...when i got back my left bicep was noticeably pumped up more than my right so i think ive been doing lots of pulling on the left bar to initiate counter steer for right handers which i am happy with anyway instead of being gentle but i just wasn't getting round lefts like rights so the fact my right bicep wasn't sore says to me i need more bar work when taking lefts......still not slow but different enough to be on my mind.....& then of course the more you think about it the more tense you probably get..

Only trivia really...i had a nice day...but i do like a good ride analysis.

Since your out on the Gen2 more I wondered if you had made any adjustments.

Push lightly don't pull. Push right bar lightly to go right and left bar lightly to go left.

Brilliant ride in the warm sunshine, all kinds of roads ridden, including one I thought you only found the like of in the Lakes, Scotland, Wales - steep, steep descent of Long Mynd (if that's how you spell it), first gear at times, hanging off the back brake, gravel all over t'surface, God knows what gradient. And a good mix of fast A and B roads, little winding single track lanes, and some nice places visited:

Ludlow castle

Stokesay castle

Nice view from a hill  :lol

Been meaning to visit this one for years; am I right in thinking that built in MDCCLXXIX (painted on the bridge)= 1779?

More hills  :rolleyes

Triffic day out, bike going like the clappers, lots of lurvely totty at Iron Bridge Noggy, better than that old s**t hole Aber  :lol

Feel better now  :)

Nick.....totty does not visit old iron bridges.. :pokefun

Totty goes jogging gently down the prom with earphones in & toyt shorts.....not too fast so they can be viewed more....plus breaking a sweat may make the make up run.

Tottys idea of "the financial crisis" is when they were £100 short on getting those must have shoes for 1 night only.

Totty is abundant in every shop, cafe & petrol station scraping up the funds for their education......which all gets spent on the above named must have shoes.

All this and more is what Aber beholds........& i'm still young enough to look :b

TBH the latest album isn't that good, too like the 80's stuff before he really learned to play a guitar. I can't recommend them enough live though, the show was amazing.

It was basically Coventry - Stratford - Worcester - Hereford - Brecon, 2 hours, 1 hour having lunch, Brecon - Hereford - Ross-On-Wye - Ledbury - Malvern - Worcester - Stratford - Coventry, 3 hours.  :\

The bike hit 40,000 a couple of weeks back, is that high for one of these? How long before a rebuild is due?

40,000 is just run in, mine is 79,000ish and a few foccers have over 120,000 on them. Change the Oil and filter at the recommended intervals, the usual regular maintenance and it will be fine :)
