Quote from: Dead Eye on 24 November 2014, 07:37:59 pmBack home this afternoon a little earlier than usual so as there was some light left I cracked on again with seeing if I could get the front timing belt sorted. 20 minutes later and its all timed up correctly and reassembly has begun I have a new clutch kit arriving in the next day or two, but that's a piss easy job. Need to re-attach a few covers, try to find a few lost bolts I've left somewhere and then offer the engine back up the car.Once that is done, clean up the new gearbox and reinstall and then the might ZS should be back on the road When you're pisssi g about u derneath the car do you ever think ih shit the chassis is a bit rotten or whatever......not saying that it is but genuinely curious coz on my old golf.....well it wasnt bad bad....but it wasnt good either....the ZS is slightly more modern......where were those MG's manufactured and how thick is the metal and how dothe floor pans and sills look up clise and personal. Before i got my type-r i had a few grand saved up and was gonna get a big bore performance engine from some place in Sommereset fitted but i buckled nd went for new car............but im always windering what if.......and will my modern made car stand the test of time...Any thoughts?

Just give it to me Noggy and it'll save you all the heartache of spending any more on it
Noggy, have you seen the new MT09, with the front fairing ,like the FZ1s ?????? its a proper job..in January issue of bike mag
Remember that time we did the road out to Aberystwyth Noggy? The MT07 is not the right bike for you MT09 maybe.
im a little fed up of my teeth being rattled out on less than perfect surfaces.

I reckon there must be something seriously wrong with the suspension still, and wonder how you'd find a stock one if you tried one? You are the first person I have heard criticise them so harshly.

Well heres hoping anyway.

MG got a bit of lovin today as the engine is now re-attached to the chassis with help from Christo... despite his yammering and complaining about being tired, cold and ill etc etcHad a bit of trouble getting the lower mount to line up properly, but after a few hours and much swearing it is now connected - had to attach the top mount first which I expect I'll have to take back off again to gain access to a few bolts that weren't dealt with previously.I may get back out on it tomorrow, but I'll see what the weather has in store first and how my well my muscles have recovered
I'm a little concerned that every time I think about this project I keep feeling like I've forgotten something
