Another question about the R6 shock upgrade
« on: 26 April 2014, 11:03:37 am »
OK so I bought the unit from our resident good egg Luke, but before I fit the unit I wondered if anyone has actually used a jack up kit WITH the R6 unit? I spoke to Luke but he's unsure if anyone has, so before I fit said unit I thought I'd ask the question on here, I'm over 6ft and my last Fazer had the jack up kit and it suited me well, but throw in the R6 shock into the equation and I'm unsure as to how the handling will be???

Hi, I'm 6ft and fitted R6 shock with 126mm (130 for stock height with the R6) centres dog bones which gave a 20-22mm ride height measured from axle.
I noticed the height first time I sat on it and it rides fine.
Switching back to stock then the 126 I prefer the 126's. Raising the forks 8mm made a noticeable diff for faster steering, the diff rear height not so so noticeable to me.
where does the muffler go?

I can swap them out for 126's if you don't like the stock

Reason I don't push these as the r6 shock is much firmer

Try it first then we can talk options

raising the forks 8mm as opposed to dropping them through the yokes??? So your happy with the standard height the R6 shock gives the Fazer??

Can be a bit slow down here, long way for those waves to travel !
I like the 126's with the 20-22mm rise they give - more for the better look more than anything else  :lol
