Hi Guys,
Yes Paul .. as per my normal annual attempt .. I did post quite early on and try to drum up some interest and support for the 2013 Brum Bike Shed Meet (please see the first two posts and photo shoot line up on page one of this thread guys) If anyone else thinks I'm telling people what to do .. I apologise now. This is not my intention at all .. I'm simply offering help and advice .. nobody has to take any notice .. nothing new there then
I know that you don't like getting your bike wet or dirty mate .. it really always was one of those 'almost too beautiful to ride' models
. However I do think you could maybe be slightly more 'Positive' about the whole Bike Shed thing .. even if it's not your idea of fun .. lots of people have enjoyed it big time over the passed twelve years.
Lots of the new guys might be well put off by your personal assessment of what it's all about. For sure us oldies should be encouraging and helping them (is that not what Bike Clubs are all about)
Lots of Bikers like to rise to a bit of a challenge (you can trust me on that point
) get out of bed and make it happen, join in and be part of things, enjoy a day out (that's what the bikes are made for really don't you know) and then have the 'well chuffed' feeling of achievement after it's been done.
It's a lot more than ''a car park on a motorway'' in my opinion
you need to put your wide angle lens on
As for finding somewhere new .. by all means do .. but I doubt you'll get a better (more central and fair to all) location without creating another North South divide
.
Whatever .. I look forward to reading the reports and better still seeing the photos.
Bit of Personal Update .. my left hip joint has finally given up big time and disintegrated .. I have had to go asking for help. The Spanish health system is ten times better than the UK NHS and I'm pleased to report that I'm already due to get yet another new steel joint by the end of May.
This means I have had to delay my nice little 4.000 mile ride-out from the Costa Blanca to the wet and cold Outer Hebrides and back down into the Sunshine. But I promise you all .. I'll have my best leg back over and be off up the road .. as soon as ever I can
.
Stay Safe Y'all
