Throttle cable slow to snap back
« on: 12 March 2017, 02:33:30 pm »
Hello. I just had my bike apart to sandblast my frame and paint it. I put in the carbs today, but not shure if i got the wire routing right.. the handle is a bit hard to turn around and snaps back a bit slow. Somebody have pictures of their routing?

Pages 48 and 49 of the manual (in the downloads section) show the routing fairly well.

I had this, turns out the bar end weights and the throttle assembly at the handlebars where a bit to tight. If they're all squeezed to close together they can rub slightly, worth a check.
Treat everything in life the way a dog would- if you can't eat it or foc it, forget it.

Check your routing of cables/wires etc then if okay check your free of throttle using manual. Be sure to check adjustment of cables at carb end as if you don't have it adjusted there correctly you will get sticking and slow throttle operation. If done all that then maybe cables them self oil/replace

Check where the outer cables attach to the carbs. You might need to slacken one of the outer cables just a little.
