No. If he snaps them that's his problematic conundrum.  ha..I was sure to check that with him. "don't worry "he said.  So I'm waiting till they need doing.  I guess it comes down to how good your mechanic is.  But I don't pay for poor application... These guys (good ones at least) know what they are doing and have the correct tips tools and techniques. Change your mechanic mate!!
Ta-da!

I don't think I will be doing this myself - I have read many posts on this forum relating to this issue. Seems a weak area. I'll just take it to my mechanic when the pipes rot - he can source some from M&P and fit them for £200 ! not worth the agro attempting myself.

how do these things break anyway; I've never had studs break on any bikes I've owned. Is this a fizzy only issue ???  does spraying the header nuts for a week - before attempting removal - with WD not help?

I don't start aggro. But tend to finish it!!  Bit difficult when people hide behind a Computer etc. I didn't start the flame.however,as this is somewhere I turn to for help and a place others frequent to offer help...let me apologise for using such horrific language infractions that caused grown men to cry. Truly sorry and let's move on fellas

Mmmm. You never know. Worth asking and certainly something to be aware of

Quite. But not quite the answer sought.
Bit of background...  I asked because I had a bar off a guy on here which was off a fiz but was not the same as that which I removed.  The locating holes for switch gear were in different places. The 'serated' bits around the middle of the bars was in different locations.
This made me wonder and postulate that there are subtle differences across the model range and different part numbers... So what are the definitive list of varying parts and respective numbers

I used a DID 530VX X ring chain with a breaker/rivet tool from fleabay, 2200miles gone and ok thus far. Kit included new link and rivets - through the split link away
