when I refit my Reactive fettled forks is there anything in particular to check, I am using all new bolts apart from the wheel spindle, the new Yamaha ones are much better quality, the top hat spacer seems to fit one way but the parts schematic show it the other way ?, just any tips would be helpful, thought I might pull the pads and clean the calipers whilst I was at it too. Any ideas on torques settings for various fork retaining bolts ?[/size]odd thing on my Fazer 8, six bolts to hold the mudguard on, six bolts to hold the forks in, seems oddthanks for any info

looks like the Fazer fork rebuild after various calamities is going to be 400 notes, stripped rebuilt with new parts, new springs and damper settings to suit my weight etc so not bad, second replacement of chrome bit of slider included, taken them to Gareth at Reactive near York so should be spot on when the return, hopefully by late September, then will need to pull apart the raer linkage and maybe by a new shock to match the front, good job its a keeper.

pulled the Fazer out of the garage this afternoon for the first time in a couple of weeks, been on the Optimate, just refused to start, abs light and emu light stayed on and after a couple of seconds cranking the emu light started flashing, was perfect before it went away last time, only thing done is to fit exhaust hanger and adjust gear lever for new pegs, any ideas ??
I did leave my u lock in the back wheel when I tried to wheel it out of garage but no apparent damage done, checked electrics as best I could but nothing obvious, main fuse was OK if a bit grubby.
any ideas

I have taken the pillion handles off and bolted carbon fibre plates in place, Looks ok and does the job. I have taken off the pillion footrest assemblies, fitting an R&G blanking plate and exhaust hanger, saved close to 4kg, carbon pipe and tail tidy will save another 5 kilos at least, just need to loose about 50 kilos myself and a light weight Fazer will result,

Anybody recommend the best fitting hanger for a aftermarket can ?, pillion pegs not required.

I got some multi adjustable CNC footrests, currently set at 0.5 inch forward and 0.75 down. Opens the knee angle making for better comfort, still no lower then the hero blobs so no ground clearance issues or gear/brake pedal issues. Good value at 32 quid, slight niggle is you need to drill out the old pivot pins and use new cotter pins (I used the pillion peg pins) and spring is a pain to fit but got round that, pics available if anybody interested.

hi, anybody have any ideas on how to fill the holes in left when you take the pillion handles off, I will be taking the foot pegs off in due course when I get a new can but the pillion grab handles are in the way of my short legs but they leave a big hole when you take them off. Any idea friends ?

Just a thought, if the world superbike is supposed to be based on road bikes and is in effect a sillouette series how does Ducati get away with the new exhaust pipes pipes they are running ?

Hi guys and girls I am looking for an Akraprovic can and link pipe for a 2011 fazer8, ideally the ones offered by Yamaha as a dealer fit option. no preserence as to carbon or titanium, just would like the ones with reference on can to FZ8, would also consider any akroproivc as long as it fit easily. Ideally very good condion and sensible money. Other makes considered as long as they are model specific please.

Both my gear lever and back brake lever seem to point into the bike, should they be parallel the frame ???

Just picked up my new to me Fazer 8, bit disappointed about the quality of some of the parts, furred alloy and rusty nuts in places even though bodywork is mint, but I digress, found a plastic coated wire ending with a four pin plug under the pillion seat, seems to have blanking plugs in, any idea what it is any of you guys ???

Does anybody know if the much better looking 2013 on Fazer round style exhaust will fit to my 2012 Fazer which has the horrible black box ?

I had to have a new slider in the forks due to a nick destroying seals, this was before I even picked it up, it has only done 5500 miles in 4.5 years, any suggestions about fork upgrades or protection of stanchions please ?

Hi, I am Mike from Leeds, just about to pick up my Fazer 8, in blue, just short of 5500 miles on a 61 plate, got a good deal, currently getting vital bits organised, ie cotton reels so I can put it on my paddock stand on my bench, tank protector and most importantly a new exhaust, either an Akra or a Yoshi, seen some second hand ones at sensible prices, if anybody has one to sell let me know, cheers, Mike [size=0.85em][/size] [size=0.85em][/size]
