I also ordered a pair of Ugly Brothers Motorpool protected motorcycle jeans, i messaged the seller who has lots of positive feedback

He stated that they are from the same factory where ugly brothers have them made in China. which would mean theyre grey market

https://www.dhgate.com/wholesale/search.do?act=search&sus=&searchkey=motorpool&catalog=#Homesearch201403

there also a bunch of stuff like alpinestars gear etc even some Ruby and Simpson helmets, but i dont think i would wear a fake helmet in a hurry, but.. i guess a lot of helmets are made in China, so i guess theyre made just in the same way others are

Regarding the points made about it possibly not turning up or having a problem.. I have read that the DHGate aftersales support is very much on the side of the buyer and especially if the item is fake the seller doesnt have a leg to stand on.

Also.. the money is held by DHgate for 30 days until after delivery is accepted.. so obviously if i dont get the item i wont click that i have received delivery.

and the majority of the sellers i have looked have also positive feedback so i dont doubt that i would get the product

There is also a forum for Dhgate

watch this space :)

Ok lads.. I hope this isnt too controversial, i know what some people might feel about ordering parts from china. but here goes

After a conversation with a mate, I was gonna fork out the guts of £300 for an exhaust, but he advised me that half of these "cheaper" makes you find on the internet are all made in china anyway even some expensive brands are, and these can be bought from china directly, and a few guys he knows have bought them from china and they are just the same as what you might find on some websites of some generic brands but not upto the standard of high end brands but still very acceptable quality. he has an rsv1000 running one which is basically a fake akrapovic to be truthful

he gave me some links..

holy crap ive got even more to do on that front end after recent headlight and speedo issues ---- F**K

As it happens these are the lines i bought for mine but my bike isnt on the road yet,  looking forward to seeing your review on them

Yeah i think it would be a PITA to turn with clips-ons, the balance is off, not practical for cityriding which is mostly what il be doing. the tank is so bulky and restrictive. Il try them on top of the yoke and if i still dont like it i can easy put renthals on.  I think it will look great either way.

bugger.. i just seen whats missing, the very top piece above the spring is what connects to the frame, has a little foot on it with the piece with the 2 holes connected to it.

this makes sense as it looks like the hole of that piece will act as a lever

i have it bolted to the frame with the small part with 2 holes.. i really should take photos of things before i take them off

now to search the garage for that piece, great fun

FZS600 Fazer / Re: seat recovering glue ???
« on: 28 January 2018, 11:18:40 pm »
after looking at it this morning i dont think i really need to glue the foam to the plastic as there are enough bumps to hold it in place
(and my carpet fitting glue has disapeared)
i am calling in someone that owes me a favour and used to recover MX seats to give me a lesson (or do it for me) as i already see problems arising
might have to go pick up an compressed air stapler as mine isnt up to scratch
when it comes to engines and metal im fine but when it comes to anything art and crafty im sh*t

If you need a seat, I removed mine, it wont be getting used again. we could work something out

or on topic, i would say the contact adhesive would work a treat, its just a strong but soft glue it wont melt the foam.

« on: 28 January 2018, 11:09:12 pm »

Hi Guys, I picked up a real nice Fazer last month, iv'e always liked them, i love the shape of the frame and tank and always thought they were ripe for some modification

Its not a big project Ive practically zero mechanical experience, so its just a wee short back and sides lol im out of work long term sickness so this passes some time :)

im not convinced on the clip-ons.. i might go for renthals. Il see how it rides with clips ons to see how i like it.

plans are going fast, most of the parts are here and the engine casings, wheels and stantions are in for paint, both the seat and the parts, trimmed front guard, should be back to me on tuesday :)

next things to do, a design for the tank.. i think red would look awesome, all of the bike will be black, but i also love the look of bare metal tanks. RFID ignition to be fitted, find a muffler, rear hoop to be welded and just a little wiring and its ready to go...

Once its on the road il look at replacing the airbox, possibly a nicer shaped rear swingarm

heres some pictures, i only have a few, but i will take some more when i collect my painted parts over the next couple of days

this was the day i got it, i immediately gave it a diet.. picture in B&W just to see what it was like with grey tank

the seat chop..

I donr this after a week or so.. but its since been taken apart again to have parts painted

FZS600 Fazer / side stand removal / fitting help
« on: 28 January 2018, 10:13:53 pm »
Hi guys, i took off the side stand for painting, but now ive put it back on its limp and hanging halfway down and doesn't spring back up (sounds so wrong  :lol ) when i kick it back.

i guess i haven't fitted it correctly but it doesnt immediately appear like there is another way to fit it.. so right now im a bit baffled
It look like the washer attached to the spring goes where the bolt is to attach it to the bike and the other end of the spring attaches to the hook further down.

can anyone help me with this who has taken it off before?

or if one of you kind gents take a picture of the stand extended from underneath that would be amazing!!

Thanks in advance

Neil

« on: 03 December 2017, 05:27:15 pm »
thanks, and yes thats exactly what i have done, ive gone naked and plan on having the top yoke clutter free and having a motogadget mini speedo fitted

to the person who asked about a button, no there is nothing and the keys appear to be just an ordinary key so im thinking it doesnt have one which is great news

Evening Gents :)

I was just browsing around trying to find some info on my bike and found the forum.

Just got a Fazer last week, hugely impressed! its my second bike, first bike was a 84" Honda Nighthawk, Iv'e already got started on stripping the bike down, my plans are as follows..

Custom made single seat and cut away excess frame, install a rear hoop with brake and indicators built in
clipons, new switches and brake and clutch levers
Led headlight built in indicators
Motogadget speedo built into top yoke
Motogadget RFID ignition

this is the last pic i took, i put on the headlight to see how it looked, but now more parts are taken off and gone to get sprayed

If anyone can tell me if this bike has an immobiliser? i cant find any info on that so far

Regards
