Hi all,
I have decided to sell my Fazer as it really is not the bike for me.
My Fazer is a 2002 51 plate Fazer 1000 with 41,000 miles on the clock.
Its had a recent service (end of last year) where the oil and filter was replaced. At the same time I replaced the spark plugs, checked the clearances, (all OK and did not need shimming), balanced the carbs and replaced the chain and chain rings. I also fitted a scottoiler.
Last year I removed and free`d off the ex up valve, lubricated it and replaced the cables and adjusted it all so it all worked. (Its a detuned r1 engine in the Frazer thousand and apparently these seizing are a common fault.
Over the winter I removed the radiator, downpipes and swingarm. I replaced the downpipe studs with stainless as the originals had seized and put stainless dome headed nuts on to prevent the same thing happening again.
I cleaned and polished the headers (they are chrome plated stainless) and they have come up nicely. I resprayed the front of the engine and the rocker cover and the rad and all associated rad and fan brackets.
I resprayed the swingarm and greased all of the swingarm bearings and replaced the rear shock with an r6 shock from Luke.
The brake callipers were all overhauled with the pistons being popped out, cleaned, new seals and then new fluid flushed and bled through for front and rear.
The bike has heated grips and rental bars to give a more upright seating position.
I have some spares to go with it - front discs and pads, rear discs, rear plastics and undertrays, exhaust, nuts and bolts and various other bits and bobs.
The bike is MOT,d till end may and taxed till June. Its been 100% reliable and never let me down.
I have also got a load of receipts, old more and manuals etc for the bike.
If you'd like any more pictures let me know.
I did a thread on the work I did on the bike here:

I've got a givi rack, top box and panniers which I was going to sell seperatley I'm sure we can come to some arrangement with them if you are interested.
I'm looking for £1800ono which I think is reasonable but can't find anything to base it on so if you think its a bit much please shout...

I kinda wish I'd seen this before I bought my W reg 600 (5000 miles) for £1400. Having said that the 600 still scares the bejesus out of me (and weighs a ton to a wuss like me) so it's probably for the best ;-)

This last picture tries to show a miniscule ding on the r/h side of the tank next to the "Y" of Yamaha. I picked it up more by touch than sight when polishing the bike this evening and it is extremely difficult to see. I would rather mention it than not.
To recap I will be removing the muffs, airhawk and comms system. I would like to remove the pannier frames and rack and givi boxes - I have the original handles and they are in as good condition as the rest of the bike so they will be polished and fitted in place of the racks.
The bike has no outstanding finance on it - it is 100% owned by me. It has not been in any accidents and has not been a category c or d.
Any q's please ask - and thanks for all of the positive comments. They all echo exactly what I feel about the bike but as I say not the bike for me and my style of riding.
Regards
Tom

Not in the market to buy your bike sorry but I love the wire mess on your side panels. Did you do it yourself or were they like it when you bought the bike?
-
Hi Graham,
They were like that when I bought the bike. They have been done with mesh and then stuck to the inside of the panel. I must admit I thought it was how they came.....
Tom
-
Wire mess?! I meant mesh of course. :rollin Thanks. Guessing whoever did it was trying to encourage more air into the intake area.
-
I'll give you £200 a month for 9 months. :)
-
That's fine - with an £1800 deposit.......

Just noticed the V5 says the reg date is 12/12/01 not 02 as in first post.

Hi there,
I must admire the work you put in in the bike.
I've had mine for a few years and it needs some upgrading. Could you/ would you let me know where the pannier rack is from or what model it is please? I'm struggling to locate one.
-
Its a Givi rack and came from BVM Moto in Stroud.
