Don't quote me, but a couple of years ago I needed the "Yamaha" side decals for the tank on my FZS600, I've looked thru my eBay history and I'm pretty sure these are what I ordered , if they are then the Yamaha decal was a perfect fit for the tank , I requested the ones below in silver which I used on a black tank, you need to specify the colour at checkout, like I say don't quote me as it was some time ago but may be cheap enough to take a chance....

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: high mileage
« on: 20 July 2014, 08:02:20 pm »
Probably not a popular point of view, but I have bought a lot of bikes (and sold them) and I wouldn't look at anything over 30k, to me that is the point mileage starts to become "high", I think this is due mainly to lots of similar bikes having a lot lower mileage, so when shopping around I will see Fazer 600's with 30k or more priced around £1500 and many with less than 20k at about the same price. As long as condition and service history is good then it's a no brainer to buy the one with less miles.

A chap close to me recently had a very nice condition fazer 600 up for £1495, with 39k miles on the clock, after three weeks of no bites he has just dropped down to £1295 and is still struggling to find a buyer, nothing wrong with the bike but the miles are putting people off, if it had 15k miles on it would have sold straightaway

Just my tuppence worth

FZS600 Fazer / Re: "Excellent Condition" I don't think so

Did you get a test ride of the CBF. I had a CBF1000A for 6 months. I couldn't get on with the handlebar buzzing. They reckon it came from the fairing. Tried draught excluder in all the joints but could not get it down to an acceptable level so it had to go.

Yes, took the photo above while on the test ride, mines a naked version so no fairing, I found it incredibly smooth to ride, seemed like you could put in top at 30Mph and just leave it there, took the bike up to a bit above the speed limit and couldn't feel any buzz in the bars, I did notice that it is fitted with extra thick grips so may be that it does buzz and the previous owner found a work around

Spent the last couple of weeks looking at bikes and come across much the same, worst was a bike described as "stunning" that had a similar amount of corrosion to the pics above  I drove 120 miles to see that one although it made a nice day out in Cornwall , plus one with 11k genuine mileage but the MOT history showed 22k and 25k four years ago so had obviously had new clocks!

I was also surprised at the bikes that hadn't even been cleaned prior to an arranged viewing, no wonder my bikes always sell quickly and to the first person who comes to look!

Anyway eventually found a CBF600 hiding away in a small dealer, selling on behalf of a customer, very good nick, 2007 reg, FSH and a genuine 5k miles on the clock! Negotiated a mini service, 12 months MOT for 2k all in, I know it's not a Fazer, but I've had five of them and just fancied something different and a little less frantic, also one that I can bling up, I've added all the extras to nearly all of my Fazers and then sold them with them all fitted and just couldn't face buying another exhaust/rad cover/hugger for a Fazer, I pick the CBF up at the end of next week and am looking forward to it, pic below, Jonesy

Hey chaps

That one on the link is the one i had & is also that one that doesn't really fit properly.

I bashed mine to death with a hammer & i flogged it to fizzy & i think he tarted it up a bit.

This! Had one, wouldn't fit properly , had to elongate the holes with a file, also made of very thin steel

Also had a Beowulf one which fitted perfectly so that's my recommendation

First decent ride of the year for me, left Ottery, bacon bap at Exeter, on to Tiverton then picked up the A396 thru Dunster to Minehead, a lovely road with great scenery and apart from the cyclists and the odd suicidal pheasant a very beautiful part of the world, then back via the A358 to Taunton, quick blat down the M5 to clear out the various cyclist limbs littering the sharp parts of the bike, off at Cullompton and cross country to home. Just what a Sunday should be  :)

Hi, if you have no luck getting an aftermarket one I am pretty sure I have a standard one in the garage you can have for free if you can collect (Ottery)

BTW i think you may be thinking of the Fabbri screen, have a look at my photos under recent posts as that is the one I have fitted.

PS: sorry to hear about your "off"

FZS600 Fazer / Re: FZS 600 vs Thundercat 600
« on: 14 May 2014, 09:52:42 pm »
Friend of mine had a T/cat and it was definitely quicker in a straight line than the Fazer, he was also a better rider than me and would easily lose me in the corners, but in a burn from the lights he could get away from me quicker and in a 4th gear roll on the T/Cat was the quicker bike, so from my experience it is definitely the faster bike.

Hi, I'm based near Exeter and have a spare slightly modified (to make fit) stainless steel radiator guard, it's one of the cheap jobbies from eBay that I have recently replaced, you can have it for free if you want.

PM me and I can either arrange to meet you at Bridge on a sunny weekend or you can pick up from me

All the best

Foccin ell

Easter day and there's one good egg 8)

That's me, solid on the outside and hollow inside :) , anyways here is a pic of what it looked like on the bike, seems to be a few Fazers in the exeter area so perhaps a Fazer meet in Devon is due sometime soon?

Replaced my crappy eBay £24.99 cooler cover jobby with a nice new Renntec one, far better quality and fitted perfectly unlike my old one

Jonesy
The look of that one worrys me as it dosent look like enough/big holes

Yes it's quite bulky, I think the side pieces make it look worse, the mesh actually sits loose in the surround and let's air in around it, so far seems okay, hopefully as it's made by renntec they did some quality testing .
Went out today and did some traffic work and all seemed okay, but will certainly keep an eye on it, thanks

I know you've been considering a different bike for a while now, these issues are going towards helping you make up your mind, I think the time has come to do what I did, go away and scratch that itch, last year alone my bike history was Fazer/MZ Mastiff/XT600e/Fazer/KLE500, I wanted the long travel suspension to cope with our shit roads but missed the overall do it all'ness of the Fazer, and here I am back again, but.........I don't regret the changing around and needed to do it to fully appreciate the bike I now have......a Fazer 600!

All the best

Always thought a seller could ask whatever price they liked, it's their property after all, the market and desire to sell will eventually dictate what it actually sells for.

Good luck and nice looking bike

Clear indicators sounds like a plan  :thumbup .. The Red wheel stripes are clashing with the orange  :lol

Do you mind being a guinea pig for me and then posting up some pics? I am seriously considering them but still undecided  :lol

That is VERY nice, is it a fairly solid construction? (I.e. Not too bendy) I've got an eBay £24.99 jobby on mine and it's okay from a distance but close up its pretty crap, very thin SS which makes it a pain to clean and didn't even fit very well in the first place.

Looking to change to a Beowulf one or similar when the pennies allow but they are @£60 I think

Anyway, nice job and those pipes look great as well!

I think that nowadays and based upon my trip (car) from Nottingham to Exeter just yesterday , many drivers just indicate and pull out to overtake all in one motion, mirrors and shoulder checks prior to a manoeuvre do not seem to be used as often as they used to be  :( I know that I have to be 100% focused on what drivers around me are doing, especially on motorways and dual carriageways and anticipate them being plonkers so you are not surprised when they meet your expectations, has kept me safe for 25 years on the road as a rep doing thousands of miles each year......touch wood it continues that way, if you have a close call just roll your eyes and carry on  :)

Ever bought the same bike twice, I just have! Sold it last year to pay a vets bill, got back from hols Monday did a quick search for bikes local to me and there she was, the bloke I sold it to was selling because he only did 500 miles in a year and spent nearly as much time as me polishing it, so despite not having enough money did a bit of financial jebuggery and it's now mine again, this time to stay...

Hey what a result 8)

Did you ctiticise the mods that you did the last time & haggle the price down :lol

Looks good so it does, you must be well chuffed

All the mods were paid for by me, I think I'm still paying off the credit card bill for them!, plus a black baglux tank cover not shown in the pic  :)  Also he had just put 12 months MOT and 6 Months tax on the bike ready for sale, so apart from an oil change due in May, nothing to spend, paid him £100 less than he paid me last year but he was happy to sell it to me knowing it would be cherished, wasn't the cheapest fazer but at £1500 with a known history and 16k miles, 2001 model I was very happy with the deal....and the sun is shining so happy days.
