Right... behaved itself today, started perfectly after filling up with petrol and the hesitation is gone     So it's looking good, hopefully it won't re-appear later in the week.
 
And the chirping noise on overrun is gone, I think the chain was too tight

It honestly sounded like there was a couple of sparrows wedged under there somewhere 
 
I also managed to average 64.4mpg over todays commute which was good     I worked it out that roughly 1mpg lost/gained costs/saves me £50 per year and I was budgeting for 55mpg, so well pleased with that.
