FZS600 Fazer / Rear Shocker
« on: 09 September 2012, 05:46:34 pm »
I've been getting some slightly unnerving weaving from the rear of the bike once I get over about 60mph, I thought it could have been wheel badly balanced perhaps but I then noticed the preload on the rear shock was at about half way so I wound it fully up and things have improved. Is this normal? is there any thing to check over the winter or a mod / new shock? :\

Does anyone use an intercom? Are they any good? Are some better than others? Should some be avoided? Any info or experiences good or bad of intercoms appreciated.
Thanks

General / Bike Gear Wanted for nagging 13yr old
« on: 14 August 2012, 12:45:54 pm »
My youngest (13) is nagging for me to take him out on a weekend :eek , so I've bought him a lid (New) but being from Yorkshire I'm reluctant to spend loads if he decides he'd rather be on his Xbox. So does anyone have any unused gear they would like to sell?
Jacket 34/36
Boots 9
Trousers 30/32
Or any suggestions of where best to look.
Cheers

Got my bike out this morning and found a nail in the tyre :( , pulled it out and down it went. As the tyre has only done about 1000miles what are my options? Dealer repair? are the DIY repair kits any good? are they safe? The nail was about 20/30mm from the edge of the tyre so I'm suspecting a repair should be ok but...... :\

FZS600 Fazer / Setting Pilot Air Screws
« on: 06 June 2012, 12:44:29 pm »
I changed my oil and filter yesterday and I thought I'd check the pilot air screws (2 1/2 turns out "03" model) the outer ones aren't to bad and the LHS inner one is awkward but does anyone have any good tips on how to get to the inner RHS one?

FZS600 Fazer / Squeeking from front end......
« on: 24 May 2012, 07:51:26 pm »
On my way home the other night my bike developed a loud squeek from the front, as I'd stripped and cleaned my brakes at the weekend ready for the MOT I thought it could be linked. No ! I removed both calipers, it still squeeked, on removing the front wheel a small piece of speedo drive fell out . On inspection the drive had no drive one lug was on the floor the other nowhere to be seen  and the pick up was packed full of grease, is this correct? For now I've glued the single lug back on and washed out all the grease and the squeek has gone. My question (finally) is when I fit the new drive should it be packed with grease or not?

Andy (Squeek free)

MOT Passed by the way.

FZS600 Fazer / Nice New Nut......
« on: 16 May 2012, 10:24:54 pm »
After no luck with Yamaha seeming to know anything about 9mm/12mm sproket nuts I've been and bought one from my dealer who I'm quite impressed with, as they also coudn't seem to find any info on it but 30mins after I'd left the shop they rang me to say they'd been on the net and found the part No on a forum??? They also had one in stock.       So I'm planning to swap nuts this weekend and if I'm correct old one was tightened to 70Nm and the new one is 90Nm but why if they both do the same job do I need to tighten the new one more? I understand why it's capable of more but not why it needs to be tighter. Do any of you who have changed this nut before have any suggestions.

FZS600 Fazer / Fender extender.
« on: 24 April 2012, 06:39:28 pm »
Hi, I'm thinking of getting a fender extender to stop all the water (If I miss judge the weather) stones and debris etc from being thown at my engine rad etc. My question is who has on,e do they work, are some better than others, should any be avoided. I just thought I'd ask before I buy one, I've seen them for under £20 but if a couple of quid more is money well spent then so be it. But I'm a Yorkshireman and don't want to waste money.
Thanks
Andy
