Iirc it's 17mm.  I wouldn't go to the expense of a ratchet spanner if you're going to stick a bar on it and undo something really tight.  Use a normal ring spanner for stuff like that.

My landlord's Mondeo has shagged injectors, and wants to know if you fitted a new 'un, or a reconditioned one from Ebay.
Recon, my car is worth £1k tops ('04 Zetec, 156k miles).  This is what I bought.  Make sure you get the right type (502z in my case) and make sure it has the code on the label.  I'm not sure if it should have a new code since it's a recon but it works well enough with the one that's stuck on it so I'm not complaining.  You'll need an F-super cable to code it too but that only works on mid-2003 onwards cars.  Changing the injector and doing the coding took about 15 minutes.

I still have two that are pretty knackered though, not sure if I should change them too or just leave it...

You pulled out your own tooth with pliers?!?  :'(

I replaced the most knackered injector on the Mondeo and it runs ok now, doesn't cut out when I put my foot down :thumbup

You thought an online petition asking for a cut in VED would get any other response?

im not too sure I would want it recording all ym riding 24/7 though...and that lane departure system and PEBS would probably do my tits in.
I wonder how it copes with tight (as in mirrors folded in) filtering?

If it's down, put the side stand up before rolling off the centre stand.  Unless you like having the bike land on your foot, that is.

#1 Don't use polish on your seat unless you have a crazy desire to cling on for dear life at anything above 7.6mph
This was done to my Blackbird before I bought it :wall

/\ +1, head down Halford and buy the socket separately, or ebay.
Make sure you ask for a trade card, take proof of employment and tell them you deal with servicing the work vans ;)

Fuel filter at £28 and headlamp bulbs at £17 set me back £27 with the card :D  Tools get a discount too :)

I'd suggest if it's not a standard replacement then they need to know about it.  Top box, air filter, things like that won't make a difference to the price but they still need to know.

Did some testing on the Mondeo and found out why it cuts out when I put my foot down.  3 knackered injectors  :\

As long as it's not running I can't see any engine damage being done by it lying sideways for a few hours.

That's pretty crap though, hopefully you'll get away with no cosmetic damage either.

You never lose points for mis-clicking during the tests. If you click to early or late however, it will count as a 0 for that hazard (maximum is 5 I believe). If you click to much you also score 0
This.  You'll never lose points. The reason I do 3-4 times is that if you click half a second early you'll get 0. If you click a couple of times you'll definitely get it.

Afaik car and bike tests are exactly the same.

I found the best way to do it is click 3-4 times about a second apart.  If you're a second early you'll still catch it with the second/third click.

If it's just cutting out like you hit the killswich I'd start by looking at electrical connections, ignition barrel etc.  I'd have thought if it was fuel it'd gradually die rather than just stop.

I've got room but it'd be outside.  I'm also miles outside London, out towards Colchester.

Let it be known I am turning down my first sex in over a year to come. Be there!!
No need to turn anyone down, just turn up at 9.31 instead of 9.30.

Maybe you'll get a chance to clean it at the same time as fixing it?  :D It's starting to look a bit like mine ;)

Unlucky dude, hope your legs gets better quickly and the clutch problems aren't anything serious.  If there's anything I can help with drop me a pm, I'm round your area every few days.

Not everyone has that sort of ability. I'm not too bad at judging speed so much but that doesn't mean that sometimes it escapes me. At the same time, I don't count my gears - I know if I'm in 1st or 6th but the others are questionable. I ride based on how the road and conditions feel

I'm sure I'm not the only one as well
Same.

Why do I need to know if I'm in 3rd, rather than 4th?  As long as I can tell first, neutral and (less important) sixth it doesn't matter.

Rode the XX in to work and didn't get rained on too much  :D  I also have work to do on my car, I've either got a clogged fuel filter, knackered injector(s) or the fuel pump is dying.  Hoping it's the filter or, more likely but a bit more expensive, injector.  Failed fuel pump will write the car off :/

And if you dont know what gear you are in then you shouldnt be on a bike
Most of the time it doesn't even matter.  Other than first, neutral or 6th I don't care what gear I'm in as long as it's suitable for the speed/situation.

Not yet, I've not really had time to look at it lately.  I'm going to check cam timing at some point too.

I'll definitely make it if it's on the 9th and it's not raining :D  I have a bike that's running right now so no excuse.

Got my son on the 2nd so can't make that weekend.

Tcut is ideal, used it many times to remove paint dusted onto screens, should work on headlights fine!
This is what I'd start with.  Plenty of elbow grease too.

he's away after showing me recommended torque and tightened up in front of me!
and price wise they are as competetive as black circle and better than ATS or Kwik Fit!
Last time I went to a 'proper' tyre place I had to tell them not to use an impact wrench to do the nuts up  :whip
