FZS600 Fazer / Mikuni BSR33 rebuild kits - UK suppliers?
« on: 14 May 2023, 11:06:36 am »
Hi

Looking for contact details for UK suppliers of carb kits for the Fazer.  eBay has sets from the USA.
Anyone bought anything in the UK recently. Haven't tried main dealers yet.
Firm called Yambits has a float valve carb kit but not sure if that is all I need and they don't show their phone number.
I'll take any advice -thanks

FZS600 Fazer / Carb mixture setting
« on: 19 April 2023, 10:27:17 am »
Wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a make of offset screwdriver to adjust mixture screw.
Also has anyone had experience of using a Gunson Colourtune kit to set the mixture correctly.
Finally, if I decide to have a go at servicing the carbs, any recommendations for refurbishment kits.  Yambits sell a kit for £11 approx per carb but that doesn't include new jets etc.  Had a quote of £350 ish to refurbish the whole carb set and told the parts are around £30 per carb. Thinking I should know how to do this myself (without buggering it up!)
Bike was off the road for two years and stuttered  a bit before the revs got up.  This cleared up somewhat after an hour or so on the road.  Something sticking and now freeing up?  20 years old so probably worth a refurb by now. Oil, filters and plugs all new.
All advice welcome

Might be an old post but sorted my set up a treat! Follow the instructions and hey presto!  Hardest thing is finding the three adjusting screws.  Thanks for the post

FZS600 Fazer / In line fuel filter FZS600
« on: 24 February 2021, 04:07:32 pm »
Hi all
I thought £23 for an inline fuel filter from a Yamaha dealer was a bit steep.  This is the last item on the list for the service - any alternative generic filters that would do the job but obviously not too shit?  Any advice gratefully appreciated

For Sale & Wanted / Wanted FZS600 Engine
« on: 24 October 2020, 09:30:39 pm »
Hi - just got a Fazer and want to get into maintaining it myself. Log shot, I know, but I'm hoping to find a cheap engine for me to play around with - dismantle, re-assemble etc. Obviously don't want to mess with the one on the bike until I know what's inside!! Could be scrap as I'm not planning to restore it.  Any offers considered. Thanks
