Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Well Happy with 141
« on: 13 October 2015, 04:55:34 pm »
A couple of hours on the dyno with Ross at Ian Bell Motorcycles this afternoon has resulted in a smooth fuel map, bang on fuel/air ratio across the rev range and a peak of 141 bhp and 73 ft-lbs torque. Graph below.

Mods carried out to the bike:-

1. AIS feed pipe and airbox connection blocked off with well nuts - will remove AIS pump & pipework and blank off properly at a future date
2. Airbox intake mod with K&N air filter fitted - no issues with sealing airbox!
3. Headers gutted - ie cat removed - no EXUP valve
4. O2 sensor removed from headers (hex plug fitted) and eliminator plug fitted at electrical connector
5. High level exhaust (Holeshot link pipe with SP Engineering end can - no baffle)
6. Secondary flies removed
7. PCV fitted

The bike appears to hunt a little at idle (but so does my GSXR!) and pulls like a train thru the entire rev range thru all gears. No popping or farting on closing the throttle and sounds bloody awesome.

Thanks to Slappy for his Juicebox Pro map which I used as a base map. Quite happy to share my PCV map if anyone is interested.  :D

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / FZ1-S Full Fairing
« on: 19 September 2015, 01:40:54 pm »
Hi Guys,

I am considering fitting a full fairing to my FZ1-S, can anyone advise me what options are available?

I have found an after-market accessory version on Jester and Powerbronze, and I seem to remember seeing a Yamaha version once somewhere too.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers

For Sale & Wanted / For Sale - FZ8 High Level Exhaust
« on: 09 September 2015, 09:39:01 am »
After trading up to an FZ1-S, my as new FZ8 high level exhaust is now up for sale. Please see pic below.

Includes everything you need to fit - the link pipe, high level bracket (that bolts to rear footpeg mount - you can retain or remove rear footpeg), carbon SP Engineering GP can (complete with removeable baffle and clamp) and wrap around clamp.

The pix show a standard black can - an as new carbon equivalent (identical shape size etc) will be provided.

This system has done less than 300 miles ..... so obviously it is in as new condition. Sounds pretty amazing but not offensive.

£200 + P&P (guessing at a tenner to UK addresses) ono.
Cheers

For Sale & Wanted / FZ8 R&G Exhaust Hanger For Sale (Might fit FZ1)
« on: 17 February 2015, 03:29:39 pm »
Hi,

I have up for grabs an R&G exhaust hanger bracket for the FZ8/Fazer8 (might fit the FZ1 but you will need to research this yourself).
Its in good condition but has a small mark where the exhaust bolts on. This is hidden by the exhaust bracket so its not really an issue.

I have also included 2 x black allen bolts to mount it to the frame and 2 x black allen bolts to plug the frame holes on the other side so you can remove your passenger pegs and brackets and declutter that backend.

£30 inc postage.
cheers Chris

Fazer8 / FZ8 / Bar Risers
« on: 10 February 2015, 09:33:43 am »
Has anyone fitted any?

I had a look y'day and it seems that there is zero play in the brake line, throttle cables and switch gear cable. Could be awkward as I need a little extra gap atop of the forks when the FZ1 inards are fitted for the pre-load adjusters.

Fazer8 / FZ8 / High Level Exhaust
« on: 31 January 2015, 07:58:25 pm »
Hi Guys,

Been a little bored over the past couple of weeks so I sorted myself a new exhaust. What do you reckon?

Started off with a Mivv MotoGP (pics 1&2) and changed this afternoon to the high level option (pics 3&4).

Fazer8 / FZ8 / Forks
« on: 16 January 2015, 02:19:57 pm »
Anyone on here messed around with different internals on their non-adjustables ?

I have picked up some FZ1 forks (bent tubes so I cant just swap them over) and the plan is to change the cartridges over if possible. Anyone got any experience with doing this?

cheers

Fazer8 / FZ8 / ECU Reflashing
« on: 07 January 2015, 08:05:59 pm »
Hi Guys

There is a lot of talk and info on ECU reflashing on the US FZ8 forum which apparently removes factory restrictions in gears 1,2 and 3, removes that 5500-6000rpm flat-spot and a few other bits. It is customisable for any given tuning mods, ie K&N, slip on etc and also loads in a revised fuel map so a PCV isnt necessary.

I was wondering if anyone in UK has sent their ECU for reflashing? if so any opinions?
cheers

Introduction / Finally got around to joining !
« on: 07 January 2015, 06:47:45 pm »
Hi All,
Had my FZ8 since new in Oct 2011 and just came across this forum today !! not been looking too hard obviously  :)

Love the bike for general blasting around and was blitzing around Croft circuit last September. She handled herself admirably given some of the race bred opposition and my limited riding ability.

Got a Nitron sport shock put on PDQ after delivery and am now finally looking forward to getting FZ1 fork internals installed to remove that front end wallow.

The back end giraffe, indies and pegs have been removed tidying that up, and sound is provided courtesy of a Mivv GP can (baffle removed)  :lol

K&N to go in along with airbox mod later this week. Considering a PCV and some dyno time unless others have tried alternative solutions.

Looking forward to meeting a few on here and having some fun ...... cheers all
