Title: October Photo Comp
Post by: purplebear7 on 02 October 2011, 04:11:03 pm
Big Thanks to those that voted for me last month and congratulations to Biffa Bob  :)

It's very nice of you Bob to let me choose the October Topic .. I think  :\
However .. it's not so easy to come up something that fits such an interesting part of the groups on-line activities.

So .. for the October event .. lets have your very best efforts on:   Encounters with Wildlife.

Good Luck .... Stay Safe  ;)    Polar Bear

Post your photographs below to enter. Competition rules include a maximum of 2 photographs per active member, photographs must have been taken by the entrant and relate to the theme and the competition will close toward the end of October.

ok, can someone explain, does it have to be a picture you've taken yourself or something you've randomly found?

Hiya.
The rules are basically two photies entered that you've taken yourself for the chosen monthly theme.
The best photie gets decided by a vote and then the winner chooses the following months contest theme.
Not mention a spangly, new photo competition pic under their board name.
:D

Aha, I've sussed the photos now.
When you use a pic from your own computa, it doesn't show when you're logged out of forum here, it's only visible if you've logged in.
BUT....... if you copy the link from photobucket (after you've put your pic in there of course) it's visible to all and sundry even when NOT logged in.  :D

Wildlife Encounters .. of a very rare kind .. special moments that nature allows us to share.

September is 'grub up' time in the river and the Grizzly's are having a feast before their winter sleep.

A young Adult fishing in the shallows.

A giant old Grandad Bear .. he knows the deep water tricks too.  Hard to get the size factor of these magnificent creatures across .. but that big black nose is over 4 inches wide, he can smell your breath from 2 miles away. The Salmon was 2 feet long .. Burp :o(

I think on second thoughts that the nose piercing is a pozidrive countersunk screw that's holding the table top on.  ;)

Can't compete with the exotic stuff, Tori's squirrel or Betarev's seagulls, but thought this might amuse:

Ah, bollocks... where did that vanish to?
OK, Canon's Image Gateway is apparently not a good site for hosting photos.
Something put me off using Photobucket (can't recall what, and it was only the day before yesterday  :o ) and I've forgotten my Flickr login details. I'll try to sort it tomorrow, too knackered now.

A brief chat with Farjo and the "Photography Competion" folder in the media section is now open for business. So hopefully this'll work:

Bottlenose Dolphin, Chanonry point, Moray Firth, Scotland. photo uncropped, you can get THAT close.

Musk Ox, Norway. Our guide said "we shouldn't be this close, but they can't charge downhill". A comforting thought when you're facing a 500kg goat!
