Ok, after the VE celebrations. How about your bike next to any kind of military vehicle?

@ Kosmic,  no I believe my grandad originated from Gillingham, Kent. Most of that side of my family has been in Hampshire for the last 40+ years

Well those pics kosmic, caused me a spooky feeling of coincidence!! My first name is Clayton and I very rarely come across it. But then when I saw your helmet my mums maiden name was Barnard!!  What are the odds of seeing 2 names on 2 custom helmets in a single post!

I've been with talk talk for 6 years and can't complain,  I get blistering speeds and have never had an issue with them + they are cheap as chips.

What message do you get when you try these sites? Have you tried a different device or laptop? There are lots of ways to filter sites, do you live with a partner that could be blocking then from you?

I actually already have ones of those dispenser bottles, they are used at work for solder faux so grabbed myself a clean one. Looks like it should be a quick n easy fix.

General / Lubing clutch cable?
« on: 22 May 2015, 02:00:38 am »
As per title really, clutch still seems functional but cable feels gritty and slow to return. What's the best way to lube the cable or is it better to replace it? Any input gratefully received. Cheers

Candice  braking is key!!! In an emergency stop,  never grab a fist full and yes rear is next to useless!!! True to say with defensive riding you should be doing everything to avoid such a situation.......  But it happens..... You can't control or predict everything (else accidents would never happen!) sounds like scary as it was you maintained control....... Well done

Try the shrubbery hotel in shepton mallet,  it's central to all good routes in Somerset, small private car park, biker friendly and their food and hospitality is amazing..... Its more real and down to earth, with great clientele than their website would lead you to believe

I agree, the age of these bikes doesn't matter how often you replace oil n filters, the carbon will very quickly change the colour...... But that doesn't affect the oil doing its job. I change my oil every  4 months approx 3.5-4k miles and change filter every other oil change, it still dark but not full of crud and you can still feel the viscosity

Be careful  doing the gorge!! Often there are free roaming sheep that wonder onto the road!!Do a scout run the first time to make sure there are no sheep about, then go back and have a good run

I get the same each year, I've always put it down  to the bike being parked in sunshine and after a long day at work I believe the fuel evaporates from the carbs, even tho the fuel pump ticks a few times it still needs to turn several times before it will fire.
Try parking somewhere more sheltered?

FZS600 Fazer / Re: 70mph in top gear???
« on: 26 March 2015, 05:24:05 pm »
Yep I get 5800 at 70mph standard bike! There is also quite a variance depending on tyre condition n profile. A few extra mm in tread has a large impact on the circumference of the front wheel hence a difference in speed reading..... Also how much tread on rear tyre will also affect the drive ratios.
Hehe I await the flaming :)
