A well timed thread...my 2004 Fazer 1000 has a Datatool 3 fitted and has yesterday started misbehaving...has anyone here ever removed one ? is it easy ?.

As Above my datatool 3 is playing up and would love to remove it so if anyone can help i would appreciate it too  :)

It is quite rediculously easy. Two paper clips (or one broken in half).

I have, and there is no mention of a paper clip remedy to de-activate a Datatool 3 alarm. The earlier part of the thread deals with a Meta alarm deactivation.

Have a closer look at the photo posted by chitsu, it is post #15 in this thread. He used bits of wire, I used paper clips but the block is part of the bikes wiring loom designed for alarms to plug into. Which alarm you have really doesn't matter since it is going to be unplugged.
