I have fitted new hoses all round on my bike, in the past it has taken hours even next day to bleed the brakes, a while a go I bought a vacuum bleeding kit (ideal for other things as well on the car) anyway it took minutes to get the fluid through, available on eBay

Hi solorider, I tried bleeding them today with a vacuum kit. They're very spongy still. Is there anything I need to look out for?

Mine took a while to bleed, I then tied the lever to the bars overnight. I think I could probably lock the front brake using two fingers now.

Hi Andy, I bungied the level last night. It seemed to work great.

My brakes are fine after vacuum bleeding, I certainly took less time and hassle using the vacuum kit so I would use again

Good price too - think I'll invest in one of those. I cleaned my brakes last week and was paranoid about a piston popping out as it'd be a nightmare to get the air out but that would be a big help.

A piston popped out on me Clanadam, lots of cursing followed by a smug sensation as I realised how handy the vacuum pump is.
