I'm looking for the same thing without any luck.Plenty of options are available if you have a modern bike, but once they're about 5 years old the accessories available dries up.I will most probably buy an aftermarket undertray which are still available and use a universal tail tidy.

When I retired I helped a British Superstock rider for a season and learnt very early on not go rely on the factory markings for the rear axle.We used a Ronometer, which is basically two lengths of square section alloy tubing that were clamped either side of the rear wheel. The other ends of the tubing would reach either side of the front wheel.Adjustments to the rear were made until the gaps either side of the front wheel and tubing were equal. You had the opportunity then to make your own reference marks on the swing arm. Don't know how much they cost, but would be easy enough to make.

Hi Cellarman,
From the info I've gained from other posters, I've made a note that someone has measured the rise (measurement C) of the stock bars as between 40 to 50 mm, whereas the 755's would be 85mm. Others have pointed out the fact that in choosing higher than stock bars, could present a problem regarding cable lengths etc.The 755 appears to also be referred to as Road Medium.
Hope this helps.

R1FSR,
Is your Blueflame can only supported by the bracket coming from the footrest hanger mounting holes, or is there also another fixing from below the seat area.
Thanks.

Well I had a quote from Dale at Holeshot for the link pipe and fitting kit, and when freight, import duty and VAT is added it's a non starter. However thanks to the guy at SP Engineering, I've located a stainless pipe bender within 5 miles from home. Showed him a picture of what I wanted, "Piece of cake" was his reply. Just what I wanted to hear, so just need to sort a can and let him get on with it.

Thanks for your replies guys, all your input has been much appreciated. It's going to be the 758s, just deciding on the colour, thinking of gold. At the Excel Show tomorrow, hope I don't make an impulse buy that I later regret.

R1FSR,
That's a real head turner. Well that's certainly given me something to think about. I had a quick look at their site and all their cans are oval, whereas I want round and small diameter with a big outlet. Using the blueflame link pipe could mean the can I choose will not run nice and close to the bodywork like yours and Smurfbuds, but certainly an option. Thanks for posting the pic, "She's sure fine looking man".

Just found an English translation of the fitting instructions. One cut is necessary, so if I go for it it'll be measure it 6 times, cut it once. Would still like to know if tail tidies are available, but imagine that would involve chopping off the numberplate plastic which would be irreversible.

Another question from a newbie. Was thinking of getting the Ermax undertray to tidy up the back end, especially if my high level pipe idea works out. Does anyone know if there's cutting involved in order to fit this. I only ask as at the moment my bike is fairly mint, only 8000 odd miles, and would seem a bit sacrilegious to start carving lumps out of it. Also I'm presuming that no-one makes a tail tidy for the Gen 1 thou anymore, or am I wrong. Thanks.

Excellent guys, that's all the info I needed. How the hell I never came across that handy chart of specs. I don't know. Thanks for that PieEater. The other model I was considering would have been the 754 Road Low, but 758's it is. On the back of that, one last question, can you still fit the cross brace on the 758's, just think they look cool. Thanks again guys.

« on: 08 February 2016, 01:01:14 am »
Having read through quite a few posts regarding changing the stock bars to Renthals, the preferred choice seems to be 758's. Is the code 758 only associated with the ultra low bars. If so, what's the code number of the low bars. It's a toss up between those two that I'll go for.

Hi Smurfbud,
That looks the business. I'm swapping e-mails with Dale at the moment, so that's the route I'll no doubt go as it saves taking the bike to a pipe bender to take measurements etc. Love it.

Yep that was the one.Mind you back then 0-73mph in 3 weeks was quite impressive.

The Ixil's look good, very much like the old Migs. What I like is the small diameter of the can with a big outlet. Personally I prefer the single pipe look, but that twin pipe set up certainly makes a statement. When the Gen 1 first came out it seemed every owner in France had gone for that look as well as R1's, so I knew that if I ever got one, that's the way I'd go . Even though it's taken almost 15 years to take the plunge.

Hi downey,
That's the look I'm after. I take the point about posting pics, but I'm not a computer guy. I do well just switching it on and sending the odd e-mail, all that photobucket stuff is far beyond me I'm afraid.

Oi oi,
It's started already. Yep it's a slow red one, but hope the black engine will give it the edge. This takes me back to the 60's when I got my first bike a BSA 250 C15, a fast red one not a slow green one.

I'd like to go with the high level pipe look. Would the best option be to import the link pipe and can bracket from Holeshot Performance in the States, or is there a UK company that could replicate the same quality item. Preferably down south, as they'd need the bike to take the necessary measurements.

Hi one and all,
My name's Pete and live near Croydon. I'm 69 and have been around bikes since 16, always managing to have something with 2 wheels and an engine despite kids, mortgages etc. I've just bought a 55 plate with 8k on the clock, red/black. It's bog stock other than a pyramid hugger, but once I've sold a couple of other bikes to pay off the loan on this one I'll be able to get going with pipes, handlebars etc. I'm hoping to go the high level pipe route very much like the Holeshot Performance one. I know it's old school, but I am old school.  I'll do my best to read through past advice on various subjects, and hope I don't ask too many dumb questions.
